I received my nappies today. Yay. The first thing I noticed was how thin they were. I am use to using baby loves and huggies which seem to be a bit thicker. I held the nappy up to the light and was able to see through it so I am unsure if that is a good thing or not.
They had a cute picture of a turtle on the front and the material was soft and super stretchy. I am going to try them out tonight and will see if they hold up with the overnight wee quantity. Stay tuned for further updates.

My nappies have just arrived and am waiting for my little man to wake up so I can give them a go.
On first opening the packet the nappies look quite small and a little thinner than what I’m used to… mind you he is on the upper end of the weight scale and in other brands I have had him in the next size up. They are pretty plain which is good for a unisex nappy and won’t been as visible through white coveralls…. the turtle on the front is cute too!!
I think I can hear him waking now….. will let you know how they go!!

I recieved my nappies today, but they were the wrong size. They are for new born and my bub is 15 months and 15 kg. But not to worry, i am due to have another baby in 3 months time so I will try these ones out then as they are newborn size. I am going to buy some of these nappies in my sons size to try and post what how I find them. Thank you Mouths of Mums.

I got my nappies – Thanks. My 2y.o was very keen to open the packet and try them out. Her first word about the nappy was “beautiful” I thought they were very colourful and I like the different animals printed on them. They also feel really soft and have a great stretch factor.

We tried them overnight and had no leakage so I would say they are successful as a night nappy. The only thing I didn’t like was how the filling feels really gluggy and clumpy where all the wetness catches. The nappy doesn’t seem to spread out the liquid like my current brand.

We haven’t had a number two in them yet so I will be back to post on how that went.

I received my nappies yesterday and tried them out today. My initial reaction was that they didn’t feel like they would hold very much and I was very wrong. I just changed my 22 month old son and the nappy held up really well. He only did wee’s though so will have to see how he goes with a poo. I love the design on the nappy and it is well suited as unisex.

We started using our nappies yesterday. Initially I had trouble finding where to open the packet as there was no perforation along the top near the handle. I ended up ripping a hole in the packet only to find later that there are perforations along one end.

The nappies feel nice and soft and the design is cute. I found the nappies easy to use and loved the super stretchy tabs on the sides.

At night times we have never used a nappy that has been able to hold wees over the entire night. We have to put on an outercover over the nappies normally and L. still gets wet. I was very excited to see the double elastic around the leg area. We sucessfully had all the wees contained last night. Tonight I will not have the outer cover over the top to truly test them out. But I am ecstatic that he woke up with dry pjs this morning :) . I think the main reason for the no leaks is due to the padding in both the front and the back of the nappy stopping a few cm’s from the top. When the padding goes all the way up it tends to bulge over and wet the clothes on the outside.

I received my nappies yesterday, although they are the wrong size (I have a small 2 year old who is just under 12kg and was sent a Junior 16kg+ pack) so I will only risk trying them during the day as they swim on her.
In terms of the external components of the nappies, I found it difficult to locate the perforated opening on the packet, although once located, I do like the opening style – allows for easy dispensing.
I’m somewhat puzzled as to why they use 5 identifying factors for the sizing – title, stage, weight, colour and animal. I understand it may be to assist with easy identification, but 5?? To ease apprehension in parents, I’d do away with the staging. The kg approximations are a great guide to go by.
I am appreciative of the unisex styling of the nappies. In this case, I would be able to use the same packet of nappies for both my 10kg 8 month old son and my 12kg 2 year old daughter. Easy! I’m actually considering going out and purchasing the correct size so that I can review it in terms of use on boys and girls and differences, if any. Will post results asap.

I will passing my pack over to a friend on the weekend and asking her to review for me instead.

My 19month old is toilet trained and even if she wasnt, a stage 5 is too big for her slight frame. My son is a petite framed 6month old too – so definitely out of our size range Im afraid.

My little one has just been put down for a nap in his just now.
I liked the super grippy tabs and the nappy did feel nice and soft. The nappy stretches out well and they don’t keep the fold crease between the legs like some others.
I’m not sure how they are going to go as he is a heavy wetter and he is at the upper end of the weight scale. They seem quite tight around the legs and only just fit around the sides.
Will post again soon once he wakes up and we see how they go.

I received my nappies yesterday. I had trouble finding the opening and when I did find it, it didn’t open wide enough to get the nappies out. I found it a little strange seeing extra kind of tabs on the front of the nappy. Not quite sure what they are for. The stretchy tabs are great.

I did find the left hand tab was very hard to open when putting the nappy on. I have almost ripped the tab off completely every time I put the nappy on. They were great for over night. But for me the sagging of the nappy wasn’t good. Once it gets about half full, it starts to droop away from the skin and I don’t like that much gap. No poos yet. Will report more when that happens.

I didn’t have any problems opening the packet although I have been using Aldi nappies and they have the same perforation. I also found that when I put the nappy on my son today I thought I was going to rip the tab off as it was really hard to open up. He did a poo in one today and it held in well. He did have a bit of leakage on the inside of his legs but he has that in his huggies nappies so maybe it’s how i put the nappy on. I haven’t tried him in a nappy overnight yet but after reading the above reviews I can’t wait to see how he goes as my son does lot’s of wee’s overnight and his pjs are normally wet in the morning. I will let you know how I go. I’m already recommending the nappies to friends though although I haven’t priced them yet to see how they compare to others.

I received my nappies a couple of days ago, I am a little disapointed! When I first opened them I thought they were tiny. My boy is 5 mths and is just a bit over 7 kg. They seemed to fit him ok at first but when I changed him they had dug in and left red marks around his legs. To look at I would say they are more newborn size or for very skinny babies. My boy is a little bit chubby in the tops of his legs (no where near as chubby as my older ones were though). I will pass them on to a friend that has a smaller bub and see if she likes them.
I wouldn’t recommend them if you are borderline in the weight limit on the pack or your bub is chubby in the legs. Even though he was almost a kilo under the weight limit they just didn’t fit.
The quality is pretty good though and the tabs are good and strechy. Plain white for the cover is also good as it doesn’t show through clothes.

I have changed my mind about these nappies. I don’t like them at all. Twice today I have gone to change his nappy and the front of the nappy is come away from the tab and is hanging down on one side. Basically if he had done a poo, it would have been all over his clothes. Yesterday he did do a poo and the nappy drooped that much that there was poo on the inner side of his legs. So I have to say I will not be purchasing any of these nappies.

I received my nappies on Wednesday and have been using them during the day for three days now. I was concerned about the size as my little man is not so little, but they stretch nicely around him. I was also concerned about how thin they appear to be, but so far we have had no leaks. I am yet to try them at night as bubba is teething and ill, so will wait til all is better. I am lucky as he sleeps 12 to 13 hours, so want to ensure we get a proper night’s sleep, which will give them a real good try. I note during the day that they tend to fill up quite easily. I’m not changing them more than the nappies I usually use, but they seem a lot fuller. They have been fine with poo though which is always a bonus! I have tried many nappies, but found only two brands are any good (for me anyway). We are getting a little leakage at night due to the long sleeps, so I’m keen to see how these go. Thanks for including us in the trial.

When I first opened the nappies I thought I would be disappointed, they felt papery and thin and just not really good. My 3 sons (well the 2 that are big enough to talk!) love the patterns on the nappies so that’s good.

Anyway, I was a bit worried putting it on DS 2 last night thinking he would wake up with a wet bed but i’m pleased to say I was wrong! They go on really well, very stretchy and comfy looking and I love the extra little bit that wraps around for the tabs to stick on and NO LEAKS, didn’t even look close to leaking, so after the first night’s trial I am very pleased with this product!

We have been using these nappies exclusively for almost 3 days now and am happy to report there have been no leaks. :)
I was worried the nappies would be too small…. he was getting a line from them cutting in around the legs, but after adjusting the way I was doing them up they seem to be fine.
Such a cute little size, not as bulky under his clothes that some other nappies can be.
Not quite sure if I’ll be going out to buy them though – I guess it will depend on the price of them. If they are cheaper than what I normally buy then I would consider it!!

  20. October 03, 2010 at 9:45 am, slemin said:

I just looked up prices on the Woolworths website for online shopping. The nappies work out to cost 40c ea for the Infant size and 44c ea for crawler.
Compare that with the 46c ea for Huggies nappies (at full price), but you can very often get them at about 33c ea on special (and ver occasionally at 30c).
I have recently started using the Aldi nappies and they are just under 29c ea at their regular price.

So basically these Select nappies are not a cheaper alternative….. however, if I was to see them on special at a comparative price I would buy them!!

    All’s well that ends well…

I gave my pack to a friend (due to the sizing) and she had some smaller ones as she buys this brand for little un…

As a modern cloth nappy user, I will admit that I find these rather thin, however, thats par for the course considering extra boosters for night time use in MCN’s.

I do find the grip tabs effective, however, they can be tricky to open out sometimes – the occasional one will stick and feel like its about to tear before giving. As a result, Imake sure I havethe nappy opened out and ready on the change pad before puttingmy little man down for a change.

Like others, I have found a bit of a sag factor and I am a really regular ‘bottom checker’ as a result of MCN use. In some respects, perhaps thats a good thing though – the wetness is being pulled right away from baby’s skin.

I like the stretch around the legs and snug fit and also agree that having the padded area stop before the top rises of the nappies is great for leak control.

    Sofar so good :o )

I started using the nappies today. The colour of the packaging is nice and I love that they are unisex, but the lack of indication of where to open the pack made it take a bit longer to find. The opening makes it easy to take the first few nappies out but I am not sure it will work as well when you get lower in the pack. The first thing I noticed about the nappy was how soft it is, the design is simple and cute which is all I want. The nappy didn’t draw the urine away from the skin which is very important to avoid thrush and nappy rash and it didn’t hold it’s first running poo although that could be due to it being a close fit, as the size goes up to 8kg which my daughter is very close to and I usually go up to the next size when she is almost 1kg to the limit so it will hold more at night. I usually use Huggies which has the triple barrier sides which almost always catches even the biggest messes. Also one of the stretchy tabs tore when I took it off and I wasn’t forceful at all. I am also concerned about how thin they area, I don’t feel confident in trying them for a full night.

We have had NO leaks at night at all :) . I am thrilled with this as I normally buy Huggies for night time use and they do not hold all the leaks in. I usually have to put a nappy cover over the top.
We did have some instances of leakage from poo though. Both times the poo was not super runny just mushy however it leaked around the leg area. L. is 14kg though and we have the 13+ nappies. This may not have happened if he had the nappy size down.
The double elastic around the legs is nice and soft and does not leave marks on L.’s legs. We have been getting between 4-5 hours out of a nappy even after a 250ml bottle during the day and they are lasting all night with no leaks.
I will definetley be purchasing these as night time nappies.

I received my nappies on friday just in time cause we were going away for the long weekend i have used nothing but the select nappies on my son this weekend. when i first got them i was impressed that the nappy was quite compact (it was lighter than the snugglers or huggies we normally use). I like the designs on the nappies and the tabs hold well with the little one on the move.
yes i was happy that there were no leaks during the nights, but this all changed when i was cleaning poop off my sons shoulders cause it had gone up the back of the nappy. Now im off to soak some cloths but i will still continue to use and review the select nappies.

I received my nappies and immediatly started using them. I currently use Snugglers(28c each) and will buy Huggies when they are 30c each. I have also bought Coles brand and Babylove although both of these brands gave my daughter nappy rash.

The first thing I noticed was that they are slightly smaller than other brands. My daughter is 7kgs, so we are starting to move out of infant and into crawler sizes. They also seemed thinner than the other brands.

The first 2 poos leaked out of the legs- something that never happens with Snugglers and Huggies. It also came up to her shoulders …. but that also happens on the odd occassion with the other brands that we use.

We continued to use the nappies and I was happy with them as a cheaper alternative. I LOVED the stretchy tabs although they did seem a little more fragile as 1 came right off as I was putting it on my daughter. I also LOVED that they are plain white. So much better under a dress or white snuggle suits.

After 3 days of daytime use (They were a little too small to use for a night time nappy) my daughter developed nappy rash. I immediately changed back to Snugglers and within the day, her rash has disappeared.

I also checked out the prices today when I did my shopping at Woolworths. This week they are on special and equate to 29c each. (Infant size) although their normal price is 37c each – not a cheaper alternative.

I have used Safeway Home Brand with my older children (the plain white package with black writing) and have found them to be just as good as any nappy – and probably better than these Select Brand. They do only come in Toddler and Jnr sizing though.

Only because of the nappy rash, I would not purchase these nappies now, but would try them again when my daughter is a little older. For now – I have passed on the half pack to a friend of mine to also try. I will post a review on her behalf once she has had the change to use them on her daughter!

My son isnt a big wetter during the day and i am considering to toilet train him ( he is 2) and confident… he is also a little skinny so the nappies used were a little funny but they didnt leak or anything…my son is older and doesnt have many runny poos now so i am sure that the above issues wont happen to us… i havent used them during the night yet but we will see… i am using the last tone of my other brand tonight so tomorrow night will be the big test..

How wrong was I. I was also worried that they were so thin, we’ve also leake through a thin brand!

But so far so good. they fit well, they strech well, absorb every thing he’s put in them (except 1 explosion where the nappy was just tooo full of everything!) and even his big sister helps at change time now because of the interesting pictures.

    So far so good.

Ive just used the last of the nappies my friend gave me
(we had sizing issues) and I have to say that I cant see myself purchasing these.

The biggest factor is quality for price (in the past when I have bought disposables, Ive bought the babylove @ for $50 special which gave us 200+ nappies at around 23c ea) – the grip tabs are average, the sag factor is unnerving – my son is a crawler and I imagine walkers would have issues with this and the papery feeling is not nice in my opinion. This said, I was always going to be a tough one to convert. Why? because…
I love my Modern Cloth Nappies to bits!! If I need more absorbancy – pop anpother booster in the pocket – If I want a slim fit, take one out. They are fully adjustable length wise and across the top (width) and look and feel so soft :o ) The ones I have will fit through to toilet training and Ive never once had issues with leakage and ‘poo-plosions’. Mind you, I am a stay at home/ work at home Mum so washing etc isnt an issue and I understand that clothies just arent everyone’s cup of tea.

I received my nappies last week. First thing I noticed was that it was unclear where to open the packaging!

They are the right size for my daughter she is 8 kg and trialing the crawler size but I find they are very high rise and tabs cross over in the middle.

I find the elastic around the leg is not very tight and causes leakages – which we had the first night we used them.

The absorbancy of the nappy is good (if no leaks through the legs) then she can last 12 hours during the night!

Nice and slim design and cute picture.

The nappies are pretty thin compared to some other brands, but so far I have used them for day time only and havent had any leakages. There was one day where my girl was stuck in the nappy for a good few hours and by the time I went to change her she was so full and not a drop spilled.
The size I got just fits her, luckily the tabs are nice and stretchy and you really have to get it on perfect or they wont fit properly. She could probably go up a size..either way so far so good, im pretty happy with them and would purchase them if I shopped at woolies…but i shop at coles since its closer for me.

Have now used these nappies at night – although only half a night, but there were no problems at all. I’ve been pleasantly surprised during day and night as the nappies just didn’t look like they could handle too much of anything. They have been fabulous for us so far, and are now on my list of nappies to buy. I’m really pleased as I didn’t think anything could sway me from the two brands I currently use. Am looking forward to testing for a full night now and checking out the price comparison.

I received the Woolworths Select nappies a couple of days ago and started using them straight away. They had a huge bootie to fill as we are normally a Huggies family, but the challenge was there and my 9 month old took it like a little man!
The first things I noticed was that they are considerably more compact, they fold down very thin and fitted into my nappy bag very nicely. The second thing was that the pictures on the nappies were all in soft colours which is a good thing as I have seen (especially on girls) where parents have dressed their babies in lovely soft and pale coloured little outfits which then look like they have blotches or marks on them because the bright or dark coloured patterns on the nappy are showing through.
I have so much more to make comment on but my 7 year old has just asked for breakfast, so it’s off to the kitchen again for me!

I have been using the nappies for a few days now and they are quite good. I usually use Huggies and night and Babylove during the day. The Select nappies are really absorbant considering how thin they are and they have not leaked at all – although I have only used them during the day. My bub does drink alot of water and can really fill up his nappies during the day though and none of them have leaked so thats pretty good. My husband did have trouble putting the nappy on backwards a few times bacause the front and back tabs look so similar – but he is male too!!! The tabs are really sticky too and can be difficult to open but on the other hand they grip really well. I would buy these nappies again when they are cheaper than the Babylove ones that I get on special.

I highly recommend woolworths select brand Nappies.

Have been using these for a week but only during the day. First few days had a few leaks but I think I wasn’t doing them up tight enough as they are stretchier than other nappies. No poo explosions either. Going to try them at night seeing as most people say they last the night out. Using the 4-8kg and bub is 7.8kg but they still fit really well. I like how trim and soft they feel.

My first impression was how thin these nappies are. I was skeptical about their absorbency and ability to keep things ‘contained’. So far so good which is great!
I have been using Huggies for my daughter in the past. The Select nappies state they are unisex so I was concerned about absorbency in the front region. They do seem to absorb less but I feel this is a good thing as it encourages more regular nappy changes which is better for baby bottoms.
My daughter hasn’t done a big poop in them yet so I will report back once that has happened! I also need to trial them overnight.
Will let you know but so far so good!!

I have been using the newborn nappies for about a week now. First impressions were not great! They are huge for my bub! He is nearly 13 wks old and is around the 5kg mark (he was 5 wks early) which is the upper end of the kg for the nappies. I found them very thin and they didn’t seem like they would be at all secure. I also couldn’t find an opening to the packet, so I just had to rip them open at one end.

After a week of use, I am not 100% keen on them. The positives: We have had no major leaking (except for big poo-plosions which are to be expected!) and the poo is contained quite well. The leak guards are quite good and give good protection, When they are full they don’t have the dirty “smell” that Huggies nappies have. They have lasted during the night really well.

The Negatives: They are really big for my baby and take about 6 attempts to get the tabs in a secure enough position so that its a snug enough fit, and the tabs overlap too much, so if you need to adjust you have to keep adjusting both tabs until you get a good fit because of that overlap! This also means that they aren’t quick to get on if you have a wriggler! I have also found that the area that the tabs adhere to at the front isn’t really wide enough so you can’t really avoid the overlap. Also the inside tabs that go around bubs side aren’t very wide and don’t sit well. They are quite flimsy and when they are pooy you can see the brown through the nappy! That’s a bit offputting.

All in all not a bad nappy thus far, but I wouldn’t rush out to buy them over Huggies. Would prob only use them as a back up if we ran out.

I still have to finish the packet so I will see how we go over the next week!

Thankyou for the trial !! After trying to open them nicely(didnt happen) initially thought they are flimsy..My son is just 7kilos and i find them very small. With these I feel I change him more often so i dont think im saving anything…Think im just as happy 2 pay the extra and get what I know…
Ive sent mine to daycare as they change more often than myself – due to my bub has a umbilical hernia and they worry he will get wet(its size of golf ball ) and it stretches the elastic on nappies and wee comes out..Look they are great to use 4 a hour or two …

Been using the nappies for a week now and I didn’t think they were that bad. Upon opening them I didn’t think they looked as strong. They looked a bit flimsy but they still done their job. I have an 18 month old so I didn’t have as many runny poos. I mainly wanted to test them at night and I didn’t have any leaks (so far). I had one day where she had a huge wee and it still held. I’ve only had one intance of nappy rash and it was fine after that. I like that it is also stretchy as well. It seems from reading the review that thenappies for the Newborns aren’t as good. I’ll keep using them and see how i go overall.

    Thank you for the trail!!

My son is 7.6 kilos and the first one I put on leaked!! It wasn’t even a 3 hour stretch. I always enjoy trying a new product but I think my little mans pees and poos are a bit much for these ones. They felt thinner than the usual huggies ones we use and the band didn’t seem to have much cover over his waist. My partner picked one up and started peeling the front image off thinking it was where the velcro stuck! But it was just the image stuck onto the nappy.

I did notice a kind of circular pattern over the front of it that went clear and visible when the nappy was wet, I don’t know if that was meant to be or not.

Otherwise they were a nice snug fit but I wouldn’t use them for long periods of time.

I have been using the nappies for a few days now. It was hard to find where to open the packet, but when I finally did, my first impressions were good. The nappies were nice and soft, stretchy and had no funny smell like some disposables do. My son is at the upper weight liit for the nappies we received, but they still fit quite nicely. I am yet to use them overnight, as he has just started sleeping through again after a bout of teething, and I am hesitant to risk having him woken by a leaking nappy when I have to work the next day. I might give one a try over the weekend. So far, we have had no leaking nappies, and they have managed to contain the number twos. The only negative would be that my son’s skin feels damp when the nappy gets really wet which doesn’t happen with the huggies we normally use, so they don’t seem quite as absorbent. Maybe that problem would be solved if we were to use the next size up.

I have been using these nappies for a week now. Once I found the perferations, the pack was easy to open and it dispensed the nappies easily.
They have so far been great. No leakages, even up the back of the nappy. This morning it would have been a close call on other nappies, but there was still over an inch above keeping it all contained. Even though it is thin, it seems absorbant enough to get the job done. The side tabs are handy and haven’t once broken on me.
I have noticed I can smell whether the nappy is used or not with either bodily function, but this helps in keeping up with the changes.

After receiving my nappies I thought they looked very thin compared to the huggies. Trying to put the first one on I found the tabs hard to undo but done up easily. They seamed to fill up quicker than the huggies but lasted the same amount of time, with no leakage. Was very suprised that it contained a number 3 with no leaks. To my suprise the nappy did not leak overnight though very full was dry to the touch. Overall I would give the nappies the thumbs up!!

Still no leaks overnight with these nappies so I’m still liking them! The only thing I don’t like so much is the smell in the mornings…it’s not overpowering but it is unpleasant and I haven’t noticed this with other nappies.
These nappies are very trim and if DS was still in daytime nappies this would be an advantage.

I found that the nappies did not leak at all for my daughter- but i find that every brand is different on every baby.

I thought the green and purple print was cute ( some one said theirs was white- arent we all trialing the same nappies?)

I found they come up quite high on my daughter and tabs were nearly crossing over.

the inside was soft but the outside feels more “plastic” than other brands.

thin when putting on but bulky when full- i have a heavy wetter- but didnt leak at all no nappy rash either. or bad smell

not a bad nappy but wont be going out to purchase for my child. will stay with coles nappies- gorgeous may gibbs prints too

Week 2 for the nappy trial and I must say, I am not a huge fan. They are OK but definately dont compare to huggies, babyloves or even ALDI brand nappies. I have found that the nappies leave a dimpled efect on my babies bottom and sometimes he has a red mark around the inside of his legs where they have rubbed.. I have tried them overnight and I have a 13 week old who I try not to change during night feeds as it wakes him up more, this was a messy night as he had wet through all clothes and bedding.
I can also honestly say that its definately not a good idea to accidently put them into your washing machine. lol.. I did this and well, I had a blanket of jelly snow at my clothes line as I shook the jelly from all the clothes.. It went everywhere, including all over me and in my hair ect.. Not a good idea mums. Also my machine has not worked properly since :(
I noticed someone else commented on the smell.. I too have noticed a very unusual smell, but didnt even think it was from the nappies, hmm interesting.. I wonder if its something in them that makes the nasty unpleasant smell? Will be interested to see if anyone else notices this too.
overall: If they are on sale and you are looking for a bargain I would recommend for daytime use only. I will probably buy these again as I figure they are only nappies. My son didnt get any rashes from them and they did the job 95% of the time.

I have always been a Huggies fan, and when trying other brands have found that they give my son a rash, and don’t seem to have the same comfort. With the Select nappies, I was surprised to find no rashes, and so far no leakages…although I haven’t tried them overnight yet. They also seem to fit him well (he is 9.5kg and using the Crawler 6-11kg).
On a negative, they don’t feel as soft as Huggies and seem a little more plastic. They also seem full and heavy after only an hour or so ie not the best absorbancy, and they don’t keep much of the odour in. I feel like I need to change my son more often.
My 3yr old daughter also likes using nappies for her ‘bubba’, although I hate wasting them so she has to reuse hers. She never has a prblem opening and using Huggies, but when I gave her a Select one she said ‘Mummy, help me, I can’t do it, it’s not working’.

We are into week two & I still like the product. Still no leaks which is a good thing altough i notice a very pungent odur which i thought was just us but i see a few have commented on this. I was listening to a few mums describing nappies in general & they were discussing how high they come up at the back. I find this brand is OK as we have no poo leaks up the top (although hubby say’s our son has no bum!!). He is nearly 6kg & the infant brand can still fit well & there is room to tighten or loosen.

    Entry # 2:
I’ve been using the nappies for both day and night and my boy has been giving them a real work out! He’s teething at the moment so the nappies have been a real mess (sorry for the graphics, ha ha) but they have really stood up to the challenge. I’ve had no leaking and they have stayed on very well. The tabs are a little tight to get open but I would far prefer that as they stay stuck where they should be and not opening every time he moves as I have experienced with some other brands.
The only down side I have found with the Select nappies is that after a full night of sleeping (very rare, but it has happened!) when I walk in the room I can smell the wee smell in the nappy so I don’t believe tha they are as perfumed or nil odouring as some other brands.

I’ve been using these for about a week now. The absorbency of them is fantastic! My 3.5y son had one on last night from around 6.30pm until about 10.30am this morning (I was sick and his dad didn’t think of changing his nappy ) It was very full as you can imagine but no leaks out of the sides or through compression so big thumbs up there! My only negative about these would be the sizing. I was sent stage 6 which are the biggest in the range and they only JUST fit him. He is about 23kg and 108cm tall so he’s pretty skinny. I doubt I’d be able to use these for too long. The only nappies that I find do fit him well are Huggies, Babylove and Snugglers.

Thank you for the chance to review the Select nappies. At first I was delighted with them as I was impressed at how they managed to not leak with very full wet nappies. Then came the messy bit and we had a leak, so I am not using them overnight only during the day. Like some of the other Mums my son is on the upper end of the weight sizing and I am using the next size up for him with his regular nappies. Overall they were better than expected. I already use different nappy brands for day and night.

Thankyou for giving me the opportunity to test these nappies. We have come to th end of the packet and overall I have been pretty impressed. I normally buy one product for the day and one for night. I will be using these for night nappies. I had a couple of instances of some poo leakage out of the inner leg but am not sure if maybe the next size down may of alleviated this problem. To be fair L. has been sick so they had a great poo workout and I think he would of leaked in the other nappies as well. These are the first nappies I have tried out of many where I do not have to put a thick nappy cover over the top just to stop L.’s pjs from getting soaked at night. Very happy and thankyou again

Have been using the nappies this past week on my two year old, so I could get a clear indication, not just now and then usage. They are holding up pretty well against my usual brand.

I usually use the Aldi brand nappies, and first noticed that the ‘Select’ Brand seem to be alot thinner. Comfort wise I guess this seems pretty good, but I don’t feel confident that they hold as much. However in saying that, we’ve had a few ‘Poo-splosion’s’ and had no leakage from the side so that’s a definate thumbs up!!

Thrilled to get a full packet to try! Means I can use them for a few days in all sorts of situations. I must say I’ve been happily surprised. I thought they were a bit thin but they do seem to hold their own.

Like others I use the huggies overnight and a cheaper brand during the day. The select nappies would fit into that well. Once really full however they do sag and get really chunky with I think would be uncomfortable. The other issue is the tabs are really hard to open when a wriggling child just wants to run away.

But on the positive the stretch in the tabs helps for a great fit on a slim waisted child and all in all I will price them and see where they fit in the cost verse product. I really didn’t think I would be saying that!

    My verdict: Worth a try

I have used these nappies exclusively for a week now. I usually use Huggies but have also been trying pampas atm as well. Select nappies really did impress me. Their absorbency is pretty good and better than I expected. They didn’t hold up over night however. I had leaks for the first time ever, 2 nights in a row with the select nappies so resorted back to Huggies for night time use. Select are great for the day. They are even better than pampas nappies all round I think. Pampas didn’t hold up over night either. I think I would buy select nappies for the day and have to stick with huggies at night but wow what a saving!
One thing I was not too happy with was the stickiness of the tags. I found them quite sticky to begin with and found them hard to unstick. At times the tag slipped out of my fingers and snapped back onto my little girl causing a bit of pain! The poor thing!! But then, funny thing is, that I found that if you had to restick them after checking the nappy for example, then they weren’t that sticky anymore, and in fact didn’t stick back very well at all. I did find that these nappies were good but if you took one off and put it back on (dry one taken off then put back on after swimming for example) the nappy lost shape and stickiness of tags and got a bit saggy.
    Not too bad though!

We have been using the woolworths select nappies for a week now. On first impression they appeared thinner than our regular brand so i was a little nervous about leakage, much to my surprise this was not the case as we’ve had no leaks at all. The only negative was that they didn’t seem to draw all the moisture away and her skin still felt damp after a nappy change, but in saying that, we never had any rash problems. As an overnight nappy it was great, no spillage and they didn’t leak through the outer covering. All number 2′s and 3′s were contained within the nappy, and having padding going all the way up the front made for more effective wiping.

I was very sceptical of the Woolworths Select brand nappies as they felt thin and I was sure they wouldn’t hold what seems like the gallons of liquid my twin 3 year old boys pass at night. The first night one of the nappies overflowed but this could have been because of the cupfuls of bathwater I discovered him drinking. I persisted and have been pleasantly surprised that we haven’t had an overflow since. So ten nights on I am happy to report that Woolworths Select nappies appear to do the required job at my house. I will consider buying them in the future.

To be honest I was a bit hesitant to use these nappies. I have tried cheaper generic brands before that did not live up to my expectations. On arrival of my packet of nappies I opened them up to have a look. On first inspection I thought they looked to be of good quality and were apealing to the eye. Loved the cute little turtles.
I wanted to give them a good try before I posted a review. So I have been using them for about a week. To my suprise I think they performed really well. The only thing I was a little unsure of, is my when my daughter got a really wet nappy she seemed to be a little red. Not sure though if this was nappy rash caused by the nappy or teething. But hadn’t noticed this previously.
All in all – we had no leaks she seemed comfortable and they performed well. For the right price I would most likely use them again.

    * Too thin, the nappy doesn’t draw moisture away from skin as well as Huggies do, so nappy rash occured.
    * Wouldn’t use overnight again as nappy rash got worse.
    * Size is not very accurate. My daughter is 5kgs and infant size is too small.
    * I would only use these nappies during the day as they are so thin that changes need to be more frequent than what i would using Huggies.
    * I think even though they are a cheaper alternative, you have to also work out how many times a day you will be changing your baby and with this brand you wiull probably have to change them twice as much and in the end it would work out the same to buy a more expensive brand which you would need fewer changes.

We were really looking forward to reviewing this product as we have been having a lot of problems with night leaks. We were dubious about the whole unisex idea as we seem to have had the best results with boy’s nappies.

Our boy tested these while 11 months. He was in the perfect weight range for testing this product at just over nine kilos (for the Crawler range). At this age he has been crawling and cruising – very active.

I would like to suggest perforations to make opening the package easier – maybe they were there but I couldn’t find them.

Aesthetically the nappies had a very appealing design and we thought they appeared to have a good fit.

But unfortunately, they leaked for us on a couple of short afternoon naps. Because of this, we were not prepared to use these nappies overnight. He is a heavy wetter – in the past couple of months we have only prevented leakages at night by inserting thick bamboo pads inside larger disposables.

I would happily consider using this brand again for day wear, though I am a little hesitant in putting my boy down for a nap in them.

    Thanks

I have continued to use these nappies during the day on my daughter, I am finding them too small, even thought she is only 7.5kg and they claim to go up to 8kg they are too tight around her legs and don’t hold much at all, she is lucky to get 2 hours use out of them and I find it very difficult to tell when her nappy is full of urine, poo isn’t a problem because you can see it, it looks like it will seep through at any moment. I actually compared the size to her newborn babylove and huggies nappies that I had left over and they are only slightly longer then both but not as wide or thick as babylove. On the up side the change has helped her thrush look less irritated. I would like to try a larger size on her before I decide if it is worth buying them, although as a previous comment said the cost is not very competitive since you can always get huggies on special somewhere and they work out alot cheaper.

We trialled these nappies on my just-turned 2yr old boy – he usually spends the day in pull-ups and has “walker” sized nappies overnight as he is slowly potty training. This is the first time I’ve put him into any other brand of nappies besides Huggies, as I’ve always been concerned about night flooding as he will usually wake with a very full nappy but never wets through. We had a few daytime runs with the Select nappies before I would even consider an overnighter however, on every occasion I could not get longer than 2 hours out of the nappies and most times he had wet through to his pants (quite possibly as I’m not used to such frequent changes with him).
I also found that the Walker size seemed to be a tight fit for him when he normally fits comfortably into walker size (he is 15.5kgs). I would proably say these nappies are ok for daytime wear with frequent changing (maybe better for smaller bubs who have smaller wees and more frequent changes) but need to be a tad more absorbant for bigger toddlers, also a reassessment of sizings would be beneficial.

I have been using these nappies for a week now. My daughter weighs less than 5.5kg and we are trialing the 4 – 8kg nappies.

First impressions on opening the pack were that the nappies are quite small.

On putting on the nappy I noticed each tab is folded twice before you even pull the tabs open (picky I know but why is this needed on such small nappies?). I also realised the back of the nappies is not elasticised (one of my prerequisites with nappies).

When I put the nappy on I was quite impressed with how stretchy it was when doing it up.

I was not phased by the fact that the nappies are unisex as I often use unisex nappies.

I find it doesn’t seem to hold the same volume of the other nappies I use (I generally use Aldi’s Mammia nappies, but sometimes Huggies), and my daughters clothes often seem moist despite me changing her nappy a minimum of 6 times a day. For this reason I have not used them during the night. Not prepared to risk it….

I quite like the lining on the inside of the nappy, as it seems quite different to that of other nappies I have ever used

I have no idea how much the nappies cost in the store and I’m not likely to check, as I don’t really have any interest in buying them.

I have been so surprised by how well they hold everything in as I really had my doubts when I first received them. I would only buy them on special if they were cheaper than huggies on special. My son has eczema in his nappy area and these nappies haven’t cured it but haven’t made it worse either.

I had initially considered purchasing a packet of nappies for my son in order to review the difference between the use of the nappies on both boys and girls. But after trying them on my daughter for 3 days, opted against it as the inability of the nappy to draw the moisture away, caused my daughter to develop a nappy rash – would rather not have TWO children dealing with nappy rash!
I found that the tabs did not easily release when putting the nappy on and in some instances, required two hands to release each tab……. not a recommended feat when dealing with a two year old who is itching to go and continue playing!
If I had to recommend these nappies, it would be for back up/emergency situations only. Definitely NOT for long periods of time or overnight use.
For cheap backup nappies if you’re stuck or one of those ‘just before bathtime’ nappy changes where you don’t want to use an expensive nappy for the sake of an hour or so, they’re fine.

I usually stock up on Huggies when they’re on sale and I haven’t checked the price of the Select nappies but if they come in under 30c a nappy I would be inclined to use them when my boxes run out.
In summary – a very good product! Thank you Woolworths and Mouths of Mums for allowing us the opportunity to road test :-)

I normally use giggles little treasures as day nappies and Huggies as night nappies and never have a problem with either. I found using the Woolworths Select brand, that they were ok as day nappies as long as you checked them often as they do leak if left for too long. I certainly wouldn’t be using them as night nappies though! Too many through the night changes due to leakage!

The jury is still out on these nappies. We have been using them the past couple of days and my son developed nappy rash. I swapped back to Huggies last night and this morning he was okay again. Not sure if it was the nappies or because he has a tooth coming through.

We also just avoided a poo explosion last night up his back. I didn’t think the little pouch that Huggies has at the top actually did anything but I discovered last night that it does work as the Select nappies don’t have one.

Not sure if I would buy them as I stock up when Huggies are on special and I think they are better value.

My son is 15 kgs and I usually use huggies toddlers during the day and huggies walkers at night. I’ve also tried babylove, pampers and sorbies brand too. I received a 16kg+ pack in the mail thinking it would be too big. Compared it with my huggies walker and it looks to be the same size. So my son fits the 16kg+ quite well. It was a little disappointing as I wonder how small the select toddler or walker size would be.

It feels quite soft on the the inside but papery on the outside. The stretchy tabs, and the stretchy legs are good but I notice it didn’t have a stretchy back, which makes me worry about leakage if my son had runny poos.
I had no problems using it during the day, but for the first night there was a little leakage, however consequent nights had no further leakage.

I wouldn’t buy this product for its full price in the store, but if there’s a good sale then I would consider it for daytime wear only.

I received my nappies last Friday which was great as i normally buy new nappies for my little girl that day so i did not buy any and started using the Woolworth Select nappies stage 5. Although my daughter is 2 year old she only weighs just over 10kg so the stage 5 were a little big but that was ok. I

They looked comfortable on her and the fastener tabs were very stretchy. I normally use Huggies and did find the Woolworth’s Select nappies a cheaper comparable that i would use again. I am about to have a baby in 2 weeks so will also try the newborn size.

Well after using my nappies for a couple of days I have had to stop because my baby has come up with a severe nappy rash. :( I don’t think I will be using this brand again. :(

I have been using The Woolworths Select nappies now for 2 weeks and I have found them to be great day nappies. I was hesitant at first as I held them up and they looked thin, but My 2 year old Son has worn them at daytime and has not leaked once.
I don’t however recommend for the night as they do leak, but as daytime nappies I would definably use them again!
Positives: Super Stretchy, Light Weight, Nice Design, Fits to little bodies for comfort
Negatives: Not absorbant enough for Night time, the tabs are hard to get into spot (with a 2 year old you want it to be fast and easy, not fiddly). Price is still not reasonable when you can get twice the amount of nappies from Aldo for the same price.
Overall I would use these again for Daytime nappies

I started using my nappies and thought they were good quality, I did try them for one night but found they are better for day time use. Iwas unable to keep using them as I found the crawlers a little to small for my daughter. Shes 10kg and the packet says up to 11 but I recommend under 10kg :) But I passed them on to a friend with a younger baby and she loves them! I also loved that they had a unisex design.

I’ve been using the nappies for about a week now and I have to say they are just as good as their cheaper ones I buy at $15.98. I also wasn’t too impressed with the fabric they are made with as it becomes unusually smelly in the morning after their nights sleep. I will not buy these in the future

I would happily try the next sizes (trialled new born) nappies again by day but not at night, to much of a risk of leaking etc.

They are not as good as Huggies and I stock up on these when they are on sale however if you are not able to spend money on Huggies these are worth a go.

I was very impressed with the nappies. They are the best I have tried after Huggies which is what I use for both my boys. The only negative is that they dont hold enough to last a full night. My son sleeps 10-12 hrs over night and two nights I had these nappies on he woke a couple of times because they had leaked. So I am back to Huggies overnight. I would definately buy them for day use. I am sorry again and realise this post is problem is probably no help now.

OK, I finally have a minute to type this after using the whole packet!
First it was great to get a whole pack as this gives a genuine experience as if you were to buy the nappies.
They are very slim in appearance, and cute pale designs. I noted they weren’t made in Australia :( but they are made in Germany, which if you’re going to have an offshore nappy, at least Germany makes good ones in my experience…

I found they weren’t so great at night, but I didn’t have high hopes there, as only Aldi or Huggies will see my daughter through the night without leaks. The first night was a minor leak so I gave them another go and had a bad leak the second night, so stuck to days after that.

My daughter is petite, just under 10kg at 16months and had the 10-15kg nappies. Usually I might upsize for night time, but use the smaller one for day time. She had a couple leaks around the legs in the day but I think this was because they were too big and consequently I hadn’t tightened them enough.
The main negative for me was they seemed not to draw moisture away so well, but left the outside fairly wet which could be a problem in the long term with nappy rash.

As a day nappy, these would be fine, whether I would buy them would depend on the price point. For a day nappy I usually go on a price/quality balance.

We found the Woolworths Select nappies to be useful only for short periods of time.  Our little boy wasn’t able to sleep in them overnight as they didn’t quite contain the ‘explosions’ as well as Huggies.  Also, we found that he tended to develop nappy rash a lot more frequently when using the Select nappies.  Another reason for not keeping him in them for long stretches, i.e. overnight.

Our little one is currently just over 6kg’s & was using the infant nappy.  Perhaps, we may have had better results in the crawlers even though infant is for up to 8 kg.

Thank you for the opportunity to do this review.

They weren’t great, but they weren’t terrible- They did the job, no leaks but I found them bulkier than Huggies and Baby Love. I also found they didnt draw way moisture as well as the previously named brands.

These nappies are similar sizing as the Huggies so they provide a good fit. We found they were great for day time wear but didnt seem to hold all in overnight so we went back to Huggies for night times.

Other than that, the nappies didnt cause any nappy rash on our son so it does provide an affordable alternative as a day time nappy.

I was meant to be posted some of these to try ages ago but never received them for some reason. (it may heave even been as long ago as last year).

Anyway I was by chance doing my shopping in woolworths a few weeks ago and these were on special. Big box for $20. I got a box in both my son and daughters sizes. I loved them for my son they fit well and were very absorbent. I was not happy with them on my daughter at all. Poor fit and not absorbent enough. Really goes not show no nappy will suit everyone.

These nappies are FANTASTIC!!!! As good as Huggies but cheaper!!! Since I got them to try from MOM, I have been using them for my now 19 month old as our primary nappy. I also now use them for my new little one (now 8 weeks old). They are great! The absorbancy filling works/reacts differently than the stuff in Huggies that I’m used to so it took a little while to get used to it and know when it was full, but that would be the case any time you changed nappies. Love them and recommend them to everyone!!

I first got a sample at the Baby Show in Sydney and then I started using them as I found them great for day and night. My litlle man is in the 75% for his weight so I found that huggies just didn’t fit him to the weight they say, where as the wollies ones do. They are cheaper than the babylove nappies and I prefer them to the pampers that although are thinner at night time they don’t trap the smell and a light bit of moisture does wick through to what they are wearing. My one year old is very happy in them and no nappy rash either!

i love these nappies, they are a better fit on bub as hes a bigger baby, in the %90 for length and hight. i find huggies dont fit well as hes bigger and he has more leaks in huggies. i love the stretch tabs so they have a snug fit and dont cut into his chunky monkey legs like baby love ones do. but every baby is different and may not have they same experience as we did with the other brands, but for my little boy these nappies are the way to go
