These tasted ok, they feel apart as u were eating them, which is good because you dont hurt your teeth eating them. The strawberry ones are nice and strong in taste but the Apricot ones not so strong.

These sultanas are an absolute favourite in our house! My daughter loves her ‘tanas’ and enjoys this brand the most. They aren’t too hard and are actually really juicy. We prefer this brand over every other brand we have tried – including the ‘big name’ brands.
    I highly recommend them!

I buy these for my daughter when I shop in woolworths. Usually I shop in Coles though.

They are a good price for the product. I do prefer to be able to buy a bigger pack and portion them out into plastic containers myself though for environmental reasons. They taste nice and are a good quick snack when on the run.

My son tried these and didn’t like them, but that’s no real indication as he’s very fussy. I however enjoyed them very much, and my son loved feeding them to me! They were a bit too sugary for my liking, but the texture was lovely. When my daughter is home I’ll give her some and see what she thinks. They’d be great to cook with I think, I’ll make my muesli bars with them! The price seems very reasonable too.

They arrived at the perfect time this morning, right when my daughter was after something to snack on so i opened them up to give her a try. She wasnt impressed, They wound up all over the floor instead of her mouth because she reckons they tasted “yucky.” I myself didnt actually mind them, but i wouldnt go out and buy them in a hurry.
So for now im going to put it to the fiance for an even tougher test when he gets home.

Well my package was waiting for me when I awoke from a nap and as I didn’t have to pick my 2 year old son up until later on I decided to try the Woolworths Select sultanas and Columbian coffee for afternoon tea. The sultanas I found to be very juicy and plump but a little sugary tasting for my liking. The coffee was absolutely delicious- it wasn’t too strong and had a very smooth rich taste which I enjoyed immensely.

When I picked my son up from daycare he was hungry and I offered him two choices- a juicy green pear or a green packet of Woolworths select sultanas. He straightaway chose the box of sultanas and consumed 2 x 40g boxes of sultanas and asked for more!
Needless to say he wasn’t impressed when I hid them in the cupboard and told him to wait until tomorrow!

I like the convenient sizes of the boxes as they are just right for small hands or even myself to snack on as they are nice sized portions. Handy to just pack and go when living a busy lifestyle. The price isn’t bad for a pre-packaged item and the box is very appealing to children.

Great vaule in price, great taste, my kids asked for more.. I shared it with other mums and they agreed with my comments. Although one mother experience wasnt all that entertaining, she said after her kids took a few from its box she stored it in her pantry after 2 days she found insects in it!! Honestly dont no why or how, but she loved the product and would buy it again..

To be totally honest, all three of my young children disliked the Woolworths brand of sultanas. They reckon they were tasteless -’yucky, crunchy, and old’.
After having tried them myself, I must admit, I agree. They were disappointing in flavour as well as in appearance. Each individual sultana was off-putting, slightly discoloured, sugary and dry, rather then juicy. They didn’t leave a very pleasant taste on the palette, either. I was very disappointed considering they cost have the price of the brand I usually buy for my kids. Unfortunately a no go for my family.

I thought they tasted great they were not dry or crystallized like some sultanas can be. My 4 yo described them as “awesome dude!” – so I guess he liked them as well. They are a good size for the lunch box and handy for when out and about. The price seems reasonable as well. I thing I would probably buy them.

We really like them, and are so handy in the little boxes. I took some out with us yesterday when we spent the day in the city and they kept a bored little girl happy!
The only thing I don’t like about them is the fact that they’re not in a little plastic bag inside the box, so they taste a little bit cardboardy!

The kids really enjoy these. They seem more plump in appearance than other brands and not oily. Also they don’t tend to stick together in big clumps like others do. My daughter loves them in her lunch box and my young son loves to snack on them, in fact he is right now in front of the kiddies shows. Great to have this healthy snack handy in my bag, not only for the kids, but me also if I get the munchies.

We LOVE these. Both my boys adore dried fruits, but they do get picky when things are too dry. The Woolworths select sultanas seemed perfectly soft and were a great pack size for both my 4yo and my 1yo. Not so little that the 4yo wanted more than one, but a good size for the 1yo to nibble on a few times throughout a shopping or car trip.

I’d highly recommend them- I currently have 2 packs tucked in the side of our baby bag and I think it will become a regular shopping staple item. The price is fantastic.

I didn’t get selected fo this trial but have prchased them anyway, I thought they were a little dry compared to the other more expensive brands, they weren’t as plump and juicy. I think i’d rather pay that little extra for my kids as they left a few that were too chewy – they never leave any of the leading brands

My daughter absolutely loves sultanas so we got lots of opportunity to try these.

I was really happy that these sultanas are an Australian product, with no chemicals added. Some sultanas have sulfur added as a preservative which can give babies painful wind. So these got a big tick from me.

Unfortunately the sultanas were crystallized and not as soft and juicy as the premium brand I usually buy, however I buy a premium brand primarily because they are chemical free and Australian. They tasted great and there were not many little stems to get caught in your teeth.

My daughter loved eating the sultanas and happily sat in her high chair eating them for over half an hour – which is wonderful as it gives me a chance to prepare dinner in peace.

    Wow, great product!!!

My daughter saw the little green box and wanted some straight away. She loved them and ate the whole box, which was a surprise as she usually just eats a handful with other brands. They are very soft and juicy and full of flavour, maybe just a little bit too sweet. Fantastic product and great to see it costs a little less than other big brand names. I would love to see them in bigger boxes though.

The coffee was a great surprise. Thank you!!! :) It was very nice and full of flavour. Perfect!

I tried these on both my three year old and my husband (I don’t like sultanas so there was no point me tasting them). The three year old scarfed them in no time and wanted more, and although I refused right then he held the thought till the next day and asked for more.

My husband also enjoyed them and snaffled another box for his lunch the next day. He did say he hoped this level of quality was maintained and not just an introductory standard. However, if the quality is maintained we’ll be buying more, mostly for the kids (the baby is just starting solids but he’ll be eating this sort of thing soon) but also for my husband.

We also liked the coffee – my husband didn’t think it was as good as the premium brand he prefers, but I was happy with it – we’ll buy it if/when my husband’s preferred brand isn’t available.

Very juicy sultanas. I really like flavour of them. They come in perfect sized boxes with the right quantity in them, anymore than that would just go to waste. I love the green colour of the boxes, gives off a sense of a ‘natural’ product which is quite important when it comes to children. Would definitely buy in future.

We are big sultana fans in our household and eat them on a regular basis. We always buy the ” big brand name” ones so it was great to try woolworths select sultanas. I really enjoyed them, I thought they were really tasty and love the packaging the green really stands out. My toddler like them too..well she ate half the box which is a good sign! My husband thought they tasted a bit too sweet. Overall a great product and will purchase them on our next supermarket trip, price is very reasonable and I like the fact that they are in individual boxes great for out and about as a little snack for the whole family. Just had to come back and say that my 2 boys have totally cleaned up the 12boxes of WW sultanas from the trial.
They just love eating them- anywhere anytime. I did add some to my 16mth old’s muesli the other morning and he loved that. He loves dried fruit, so the extra sultanas were a hit.

Also thanks for the little extra woolworths select coffee! It was lovely. A little weak for me, but that’s usual with a single-serve sachet, I either just add more when I spoon it myself, or choose a stronger variety. I will definately be purchasing this one next time. I always go for the “big brands”, but WW select is just as nice and a lovely, rounded flavour.

Miss 2.5 (who can be a bit picky with sultanas) has quite enjoyed the Woolworths Select Sultanas – the texture seems a little softer that some of the other brands around.

I found the sultana boxes not the best quality, they got soggy and ripped really easily.

If I went to Woolworths, I probably would buy this brand before others, however I wouldn’t go there out of my way to buy this product.

Not a bad product but a little to dry and sugary for me to be eaten straight from the pack…

However I have used a few of the individual packs in recipes and they are just the right size to add….for example……..

    Great rissoles
    Turkey mince+ginger+garlic+wheatgerm+1 x egg+salt/pepper+SELECT SULTANAS =yumm

Select Sultanas sprinkled over a curry = yummmmm

SELECT SULTANAS added to shortbread (add after rubbing butter through dry mix)

Just a few I’ve trialled since receiving Woolworths Select Sultanas to review….

These were a nice size and juicy for a sultana. The boxes make a great snack size when your on the run. They do make you thirsty though. Overall they are quite nice and Australian made. I would buy these again.

Love these sultanas. We buy the 1kg bag for about four dollars, so i dont think ill be buying these small boxes at their price. My son does love that he gets his own green box though, so i might just keep the boxes and reuse them for him.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to test these yummy treats out :)

On first impressions on opening the box these sultanas looked a little dry and picking one out it felt rough between my fingers, so I wasn’t looking forward to trying them but suprisingly these little gems were sweet, tasty and juicy, guess looks are decieving. I really liked them , and I like the fact that they are Australian made. My 5 year old son tryed them, and said they were a little too sweet, but he did finish the whole box. Have tryed different sultanas and i must say these were the best I’ve had. I’ll be buying them in future.

I like the convenient portion sizes of the sultana boxes. They are perfect for adding a small portion to things such as hot custards, porridge or in salads and morrocon rice dishes.

Great sultanas. My son (2) loved them. I found them juicy and a bit too sweet for me which is probably why he loved them. I find the price reasonable as well. I will be buying them in the future.

These are a staple in our cupboard…all 3 children love them (6yrs, 4yrs, 15mths). They are a handy size and easy to just through in the nappybag for a quick snack. Some have had crystalisation on them but this hasn’t effected the taste at all and certainly hasn’t put my 3 off eating them

These are the perfect size for a school or kinder lunchbox and a very handy size for mum’s handbag too! My 4 kids love their “tarni’s” and these are the only brand that haven’t come home in the lunchbox uneaten.

The quality was good – size, texture and moisture content were good. All the family loved them. It is great they are natural as well. Not sure whether I would buy the small packs as I would probably go for the larger size to reduce the amount of packaging.

We found all these little white things on them, maybe from the sunflower oil? I was really surprised that in the ingredients there was no added sugar as I thought they were way too sweet, so did my son of 3.

The snack size boxes is a good idea, but usually I buy the big bag and put it into smaller container to take with us as a snack.

I didn’t mind these sultanas, although as has been previously stated in a review, the do taste a bit gritty and sugary. My daughter didnt really like them because I they had quite a lot of stem in them. I usually buy the organic sultanas and they have less stem in them. Not sure if I would purchase them as my daughter didn’t take to them very well.

As for the ‘mums treat’ of the Woolworths brand coffee, I do not drink instant coffee as a rule but decided to give them ago and I have to say I actually didn’t find it too bad at all! Thanks Woolies and Mom!

My little girls loved them. They are juicy and sweet, equal in quality to the more expensive brands of sultanas. The packs are a handy size , and they are a nutritious snack that they CAN take to school. Thanks for sending the products.

Oh, the Columbian Instant Coffee samples also went down a treat. We usually purchase Nescafe but will definitely be buying Woolworths Select next time we purchase coffee.

    Thanks again!

I have spent a good two weeks now trying to get my son to eat the sultanas to no avail, he just would not eat them, spitting them out atfer one bite. He does eat other brands of sultana so I’m guessing it was the texture with was a little gritty, or it could have been the sweetness which was quite high.

I didn’t mind the sultanas I baked with them and they were much more edible, even my son had some of my sultana biscuits and muffins but I wouldn’t choose them over other brands for my family as my son doesn’t like them and my husband and I rarely eat sultanas.

The sultanas were a hit with the kids and I have shared with some 1st time mums who are definately going to go and purchase some to keep in the cupboard. Great price and value for money too.

My daughter didn’t like these but she’s not really into sweet things. I’ve been taking them to work to snack on during my breaks and they give me a much needed energy boost without revving me up on sugar! When shopping for sultanas these will definately be my preferred brand as they are a good price and taste great.

My son loves them – they are soft and juicy. Sometimes the sultanas you get in those little cardboard boxes can be dry – but these were great. Perfect to fit in my son’s school lunchbox so a hit with us too.

I found that the kids (5 & 2) loved the separate boxes. They loved having their own special little box. The sultanas were plump and juicy. Not dry at all like some sultanas I’ve tried. Highly recommend.

I found them to be hard. The look also turned me off as they looked old and discoloured. My son was not interested but my neices did like them. So I would purchase for them.

My little one, loves these! And best of all after he is finished he has a little box to entertain him! I do also buy the bag of sultana’s and refill the boxes as he prefers to eat them out of a box. One day I gave him my handbag to play with while I was busy doing something. And I looked over and he was happily munching on the sultana’s he found in my bag – I wondered why he was so quiet!

These sultanas were the perfect snack for my two young children and they make the ideal solution to pop into their lunchboxes on the days they go to daycare. The daycare center that I send my kids to, requires that we pack two servings of fruit for per child each day, so on several occasions I have thrown in a box of sultanas as a substitute for fresh fruit, which comes in really handy if we are low on fresh fruit during the week and it gives me piece of mind that they are eating healthy, nutritious food that is good for them. The sultanas are individually large, plump and juicy compared to other drier, smaller versions I have gotten in the past. The only dilemma for me was that I would prefer mini size boxes for my kids while they are at this young age, as they never usually eat the whole box in one go. They do prefer to eat them straight out of the box as it is a bit of a novelty idea for them to have them like that, rather than transferring them in something else. I understand that these are a regular serving sized boxes and are the same size as most other snack size sultanas that are available, however some of the brands do also have the mini size boxes also to cater for smaller kids, generally about 1/2 the serving size. Therefore I think that if the Select ones were also available in two size options I would probably be more inclined to repurchase them and do so regularly. Yet, because they are so well priced, in fact much cheaper than the other brands, and the quality is so good, on most occasions I would buy them anyway as they are more budget friendly for my family than the more expensive brands. Overall though, I wouldn’t hesitate to tell everyone how good the Select Sultanas are and would prefer to buy them over other brands as in my opinion not only are they cheaper they are also much tastier and the kids just love them.

We love these, including my 12mth old daughter (with supervision of course). I buy these each week in our shopping and the boys take them to school for recess. They are great to have in the cupboard for ‘snack’ breaks or just to ‘fill in’ before meals! Definitely recommend and as I said I always buy them ourselves now!

Woolworths Select Sultanas : 4.11 out of 5 based on 410 ratings.
