Received my box yesterday and had a bowl for Breakfast this morning!! The packaging is very vibrant and catched your eye!!

The product itself was very tasty, I rather enjoyed the texture and flavours!! The Sultanas added a burst of energy to the cereal!!

Would definatly purchase this product and compared to many other brand cereals it is very good value for money!!

I received the box of Great Start yesterday and my 4 children and I tested it for breakfast this morning. I found it very tasty but would have liked more sultanas. Eldest son and youngest son loved it, eldest daughter found it a bit bland, youngest daughter also wanted more sultanas. I like the way it is low in fat and has no artificial colours and flavours.

I received my box of Great Start yesterday and have just finished my first bowl. YUMMY! As a big fan of Kellogs Sultana Bran, I find this just as good. I have Sultana Bran in the pantry and have been eating it all week, so can compare the 2 well. The flakes of bran seem a bit bigger and thicker but nice and crunchy. I think there were actually more sultanas in it than Sultana Bran. After having to leave my breakky to help my kiddies, the bran went soft from absorbing the milk, and I think tasted just the same as Sultana Bran. I will compare fat and sugar levels etc, in the Woolies aisle later today and report back. Overall, surprising pleased.

Our box of cereal arrived on Thursday afternoon, opened it for breakfast Friday morning and managed to scrape up one more bowl for breakfast for myself this morning! I have four kids aged 14, 11, 10 & 8 – it was a huge hit with them – they loved it and so did I! I would have liked a few more sultanas but overall I thought it was delicious and extremely good value for money and will definately be buying thus product again!

Both my husband & I have tried woolworths select Great Start and both agreed it was quiet tastey. I thought I might of needed sugar at first being a sweet tooth, but the sutanas give just the right amount of sweetness you need. My only negative is the size of the flakes, a little smaller I think you would get more serves per box. Resulting in better value for money! Yes I would but this product again!

Select Great Start Bran & Sultana certainly holds it’s own with other brands. Plenty of flavour with a generous amount of sultanas. My three year old probably gave it the biggest compliment by saying she enjoyed her bowl of brown chips (her favourite food when allowed). It is well priced for the budget conscious and is a product I would definitely purchase.

this afternoon my husband, my daughter and i tried the box of Woolworths Select Great Start Bran & Sultana Cereal we received in the mail. i served it up with yogurt. it is a brilliant tasty snack and breakfast cereal. it is healthy enough that i am happy for my family to have it not just for breakfast but at other times of the day. it has nice plump sultanas and the flakes are quite thick so they stay a bit crunchy. Its very filling and tastes amazing. i would be very happy to buy this for my family. i am already thinking up some nice recipes that i can use it in. i know it would go great in rock cakes. and cookies.

Recieved my box this morning, I really liked the texture of the bran flakes and just the right amount of sultanas, great flavour and just as good as Sultana Bran at a much chepaer price, once this box is empty I’ll be looking for it in Woolworths, thanks for the opportunity to try this out.

I think Select Great Start Bran & Sultana Cereal is a great alternative to sultana Bran, I found the ingredients were of similar quality but it is a great thing to buy if your trying to cut down your grocery bill with good generic brands,
I personally loved the flavour, I added some chopped banana,I felt quite content and not bloated or heavy in the stomach
The kids also enjoyed it , My teenage son said he liked it, he said other generic brands he had tasted lacked in flavour but this did not, he also said he quite liked the sultanas and would be happy to eat this cereal on a regular basis.
I will buy this cereal again when i am in woolies next doing the shopping

Thanks for the opportunity to trial this new cereal. I found it to indeed ba a Great Start to the day. It’s very similar to Sultana Bran, but perhaps not quite as sweet. It actually really filled me up and I felt like I was doing my body good by eating it. I felt like it could have been slightly sweeter and a few more sultanas could have been included, but still enjoyed eating Great Start Bran & Sultana Cereal. Hubby also tried it and was impressed with the taste. It’s very affordable and a great alternative to the more expensive Sultana Bran and I would purchase this product once we have finished this box. Thanks again.

With a few sultana bran addicts in the house this was to be a real test. IT PASSED THE TEST! The price was already a winner with me, the packaging looks good and the comments on the taste were great. There are plenty of sultanas compared to the other brand and the kids asked for more! As a family of 6 it would be great if it was produced in the bigger size box….a winner here!

Been tasting this cereal all week and love the taste, feel that there are heaps of sultanas and it is very filling. I think the taste is comparable to name brands but the flakes are too large for little ones to get in their mouths esp. my eldest who is 2 years old as he is trying to feed himself. I actually think it has too much sugar going on, less sugar would be much healthier esp. with so many sultanas. Packaging is good and stands out. Overall good value and taste but not sure it suits my family’s needs at this time.

Thank you for the chance to review this product. My family and I have enjoyed it for breakfast all week. We all like it (even the one who eats nothing much – mind you, he has his dry with no milk but was still happy to crunch on it every morning) and we definitely think it is on par with Sultana Bran, but better value. I do agree that the flakes are a little larger than desirable, but it had enough sultanas to satisfy us. We would definitely purchase this product again, even though we don’t generally go for the Store brand product – so you have converted us here. I agree with others that the packing is eyecatching and attractive. As I said “excellent value and a good cereal product”.

Just had a bowl of the cereal. It was pretty good in the flavour category. To be honest found it a bit too crunchy. Some of the texture was boardering on quite hard. Would I choose it in favour of others not the way it is. Bit too hard in the crunch department for me.

It arrived the other day, I’ve been sick so haven’t been eating, so got my Mum to try it first. She said it was ok, the flakes were a little too big and thick, and she would of liked it if it had more sultanas.
I had my first bowl this morning, the flavour was ok, however I found it kind of chewy (might be just that my jaw is sore).
I don’t think I’d buy it as there isn’t much difference in the price, compared to other brands.

I received my box of cereal yesterday and my 4 year old daughter couldn’t wait for breakfast today. She ate her whole bowl and then told me it was delicious. Big Win!! I personally enjoyed the flavour as I already like sultana bran and while the flakes are quite bland the sweetness of the sulatnas balances it. Would like to see a few more serves in a box with a growing family I would need a few boxes a week. Overall would by it.

My fussy children (3 and 1 years) usually eat sultana bran for breakfast (picking out the sultanas to eat first – their favourite part). I found that the taste of Great Taste cereal was the same as sultana bran but there were more sultanas than in sultana bran. Kids couldnt notice a difference in taste overall and didnt notice any change from their usual breakfast.

Both hubby and I have both been trying this new cereal each morning for about a week now. Hubby especially is a big fan of Sultana Bran, although when we poured our first bowl there weren’t many sultanas at all. We gave the box a shake and are about half way through the box now and are finding quite a few more. Personally I don’t like too many sultanas in my cereal so I was happy. I really liked the extra crunchy texture and wholegrain taste. So I huge thumbs up from me, I loved it! Hubby said he’s enjoying it for a bit of a change, but says he prefers the branded Sultana Bran. Oh well, can’t win em all. I think its great value for money also, so I will be purchasing this in the future. :)

So i didnt even get to unpack the box before my husband grabbed it and poured himself a bowl.( this was just after he finished dinner)
I have been having it for breakfast each morning , and my only complaint is it goes a little soggy to quickly ( otherwise the taste is great )
My one year old daughter LOVES it so much , she pulls the packet out each night when we get home so she can have some ( ina bowl with no milk) we also now have to pack a container for her each day for her to munch on throughout the day.

I am an avid eater of Sultana and Bran breakfast cereals and was excited to try this new product. Unfortunately, I have to say I was disappointed to say the least. The bran flakes were dryer and the sultana’s harder than other brands of the same product that I have tried. I am unlikely to buy this product as I think there are other Sultana and Bran cereals that surpass this brand.

I thoroughly enjoyed my box of Woolworths Select Great Start – the bran stayed crunchy for a long time which is a bonus when my morning meal is interrupted so many times by school preparations. The sultanas were of good quantity and quality and slightly chewy, giving it a good texture against the cruch of the bran. The flakes were darker than the name brand cereal, but this was of no issue to me, and the flavour was slightly different but still very enjoyable. The box size was good for pantry storage and the packaging took my eye as soon as I saw it. I would prefer a slightly larger quantity, but I hate the tall boxes, so this is a good compromise. Overall, this will now be a regular product on my shopping list as I enjoyed a bowl of this each morning.

Even after letting it sit with milk for a minute, it was too crunchy for me. Very good value for money, but I don’t know whether I’d buy it. I do love that there are no artificial Preservatives.

My view: could have been more tasty. A little on the heavy side for me for brekkie. I prefer a lighter cereal. Excellent price, though

Dad’s view. Quite liked it. Liked the fact that it was not as sweet as many other cereal brands. (He finished the box in 3 days)

Toddlers view: not very keen. (Seems to be a cereal aimed more at adults)

Loved the cereal! It was very crunchy and light.. It had a great flavour, not too overpowering, as i like. Loved the sultanas, this went down really well!
Was surprised that this was enjoyed more than more expensive brands!

Good size box and great price. I noticed straight away how little sultanas were in each bowl, this was a shame as they are suppose to be a major ingredient. The bran flakes were a good size, but a bit stale, they were tough and chewy, not crispy and crunchy.

I have seven people living in my house and the opinion I received from them varies from the product being hard to chew to it’s a great cereal. Overall everyone seems satisfied with the cereal. I would recommend it. The design of the box is eye-catching and it will most likely sell well given the price is good value for money.

I thought that this product was really quite delicious…Woolworths Select is definitely giving the leading brand names some competition by providing such a quality product for an excellent value price.
I thought it tasted great and my kids absolutely loved it too. At first I thought there wasn’t as many sultanas as I would’ve liked, but then I realised they’d all sunk to the bottom of the pack and there was actually a generous amount, so giving the packet a shake before serving seemed to help with sultana to bran flake ratio! :)
Will be buying this product in the future and would totally recommend it.

It was a fitting breakfast for warmer weather. The flakes were generous in size fresh and extremely tasty. My two children although apprehensive initially, after a few mouthfuls were converts. This is no mean feat! Its was superior to sultana bran it was more robust and fruitier. It will be a regular addition to the shopping list.

Our family had mixed reviews on this cereal. I enjoyed the amount of sultanas in the cereal, but found the bran flakes tasted a bit stale and chewy and needed a lot of milk. Very filling cereal. The kids and partner tried this cereal a few times and did not like it. The comments were too hard to chew and tastes stale. Overall not a cereal I would buy again

Myself and 2 year old have tried to eat tho cereal to no avail. we have found it bland and tasteless ad the flakes quite tough. I have tried mixing it with milk, yoghurt and eating it plain and still could not find away to finish a bowl of it. cost of it would be ok if we liked it but would not purchase this for my family.

Not at all overly impressed with this item.
Went in thinking it would be a slightly cheaper version of Sultana Bran, but like other testers – very disappointed.
Tastes like cardboard and over dried sultanas

Both me and my hubby tried he cereal but neither of us enjoyed it much, we are not big fans of sultanas and found them a bit overwhelming. My mother in law also tried it and she loved it, she like sultanas generally. I also found the bran flakes tasted a bit stale and chewy and it needed a lot of milk. I agree that is is a very filling cereal.
