Getting your home ready to for sale is not an easy task, there are so many things you need to clean, declutter, and organise in a short period of time.

When you throw in the complexity of wrangling kids as well, you could have a full blown nightmare on your hands.

Since this can be a very stressful time for a lot of mums, you’ll want to make the process as easy for yourself as possible. Getting the help of professionals is one of the ways you can reduce your workload and your stress levels.

With that in mind, here are four services that you should consider when getting your home ready to go on the market.

1. A storage unit

De-cluttering your entire home is never easy. Any mum will tell you that kids toys have a tendency to build up at an alarming rate. Getting stuff out of the way can be very important when you’re preparing to show your home, but you may not always have somewhere else to put it.

Along with throwing out things that you don’t need, using a storage unit gives you a bit more flexibility. You can use it to store all the things that you know you want to bring to your next home, but need to get out of the way, as well as all the things that you’re not sure if you want to keep or not.

2. Window cleaners

People often overlook the importance of clean windows when showing a property. Dirt and water stains on the glass as well as cobwebs on around window sills can make your home look older and grubbier than it really is.

You’d be surprised how professional windows cleaners make a big difference. There’s something about clean windows that improves a space. Having uninterrupted light in your bedrooms and living spaces will improve the way they feel and give people clear views of the outside world.

3. Steam cleaning

When was the last time you lifted up the corner of one of your rugs? You might be surprised to find out that your carpet is actually a different colour underneath! Even if you vacuum regularly, dirt, dust and pollution from the air all find their way into your carpets.

A professional steam cleaning will drastically improve how your carpets look and feel. Many of the businesses which offer carpet cleaning also have full home cleaning services, so you can further cut down on your workload if you want.

4. Gardeners

For a lot of mums, gardening is a luxury that is difficult to find time for. For others, it’s another household chore. But whether you have green thumbs or not, having a landscape gardener come and spruce up your property can make a big difference.

Whether your garden needs new plants and flowers to be planted or you just need to have the lawn mowed and a bit of tidying up done, getting a professional in can really help. Having a beautiful garden could be one of the things that really elevates the value of your property.

Whichever professionals you hire to help you get your home ready for sale, just make sure you take plenty of time for yourself to relax and unwind.

  • Your floor coverings will be a different colour where they sun has shone through. The same applies to curtains, blinds etc. when the sun hits someareas of them and not others.
You will often find you have slight indents or scratches in your floor coverings where the legs of your furniture have sat, even if it isn’t any that’s been sat one even if you use special protectors on the base of it. The only floors that won’t have these marks at all are “wet area tiles”.
As for the garden sometimes the worst part is the weeds that rear their ugly heads after some rain.
