About the Little BIG DASH

Sanitarium’s Little BIG DASH is returning to Australia for 2016, offering an exhilarating obstacle adventure which puts the fun into physical activity for more than 20,000 kids and their parents.

Family teams will tackle 3km of wild and wacky obstacles to reach the finish line, forming part of Sanitarium’s long-standing mission to help Australian families improve their health and wellbeing.

For the first time, the event will run in three cities, giving families in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne the chance to participate in this unique bonding event. While Sanitarium’s aim is to encourage families to embrace an active lifestyle in a safe and non-competitive environment, participants report that the best thing about Little BIG DASH is its ability to bring people of all ages together to have fun.

The first event was held in Brisbane on 24 July at Seventh Brigade Park. The fun then continues in Sydney on 21 August at Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith and Melbourne on 25 September at The Thunderdome in Calder Park.

Sanitarium’s General Manager Todd Saunders commented: “We’re thrilled to bring back the Little BIG DASH from Sanitarium for another year and expand the event to reach more families than ever before. In an age where the addictive allure of screen time sees Australians living an increasing sedentary lifestyle, our aim is to get kids and adults on their feet and bring family and fitness together in the most enjoyable way possible.”

Little BIG DASH from Sanitarium features unmissable activities and obstacles which have been designed for kids from age five to 15 and for adults looking to get in touch with their inner child. With ten thrilling obstacles to challenge participants, kids and parents can bounce through the Rumble Tumble Tower, twist through the Tangle Tunnel and test their balance on the Bupa Balance Beam.

This year will see the big reveal of a mystery new challenge which will provide a dynamic new experience for the teams taking part. There will also be prizes for those with the best matching team outfits!

Tickets for Little BIG DASH from Sanitarium are available to buy now. For more information and to register a team, head to www.littlebigdash.com.au.

  • I have been working hard this year to lose weight and get fit to be a better example for my kids, it would be the bees knees if i could do something like this with them and help set them on a lifelong love of fitness and health

  • We’d love to take part in the Sanitarium Little Big Dash, as since loosing weight and being able to play with the kids we go to parks as often as possible and make our own obstacle courses and challenges. I’d love them to be able to experience a real one.

  • Bonding outdoors, having fun and keeping fit all at the same time, that’s what it’s all about. We love a challenge and creating new memories together even if it’s in dress ups to impress master 5

  • I have done many obstacle courses as an adult, I would love to share this experience with my daughter who wants to be fit and strong like her mum.

  • What a wonderful weekend it will be for my adventurous duo- hubby and son. My son loves such sports… We can be seen at Rick climbing places and so during weekends. It will be a wonderful gift for them!!

  • What a fantastic way to show our boys how to have fun without technology and get their bodies moving and burn of the boundless energy that only 3 & yr olds have

  • Always keen to get my kids more active as the eldest in particular is drawn to all things video games. When they do get outside, they love it, especially running with Mum, cycling with Dad and timed obstacles/running courses. This would be so much fun for our family!

  • We love doing things together, we do many different walks- color fun run, breast cancer, dads walks. Rain hail or shine its a family event we all look forward to always

  • Taking part in the Little BIG DASH would be an amazing way for us to spend some family time together doing what we love best…running, jumping and having fun! What a great opportunity to take some time out from our busy family business to be active, work as a team and practise our sportsmanship together!

  • My son n husband are an adventurous duo, they love the physical part. My son loves rock climbing and such activities. He will have a lot of fun in the big bash!!!

  • To spend quality time with miss 5 after the birth of her sister

  • This would be such a fun event to attend something very different to what we have done before and my toddler would love to be involved.

  • My husband and eldest son took part in Spartan earlier this year and my son has not stopped talking about it since! Would love to do it all together. Family who plays together stays together!

  • Work has had me living in Sydney all year away from my family. This is the perfect opportunity to spend time together and have a fun time!

  • I think my boys and I are ready to take our obstacle course experience to the next level. Between hurdling their bikes, dodging their dirty clothes piles, and doing a mad dash away from their stinky socks, I think I am ready!!
