This month MoM members could WIN 1 of 20 copies of the novel Fearless, the gripping new novel from the bestselling author of The Mothers’ Group and Wife on the Run.

Six strangers from across the world converge on the tropical island of Bali to attend a course designed to help them face their fears. Their backgrounds are as diverse as their fears – which range from flying, public speaking and heights, through to intimacy, failure and death.

Friendships and even romance blossoms as the participants are put through a series of challenges which are unusual, confronting and sometimes hilarious. A week of fun in the sun suddenly transforms into something far more serious, however, when the unthinkable happens – a tragic disaster that puts the group in deadly danger that will test the individual courage of every member.

  • being so shy – talking to strangers or new colleagues. I have gained confidence by having an awesome support network

  • My biggest fear is getting so depressed that I want to end it all. To stop these horrible thoughts I now see a psychologist who is helping me to change my thoughts and I’m glad to say it is working so well that I no longer feel this way. I also make sure I spend time with friends and family.

  • My biggest fear was losing someone close to me, then my husband died. Overcoming the fear? There is no choice, I get up each day and keep on going. My children need me. So I take a deep breath, remember to appreciate the good, practice gratitude and get on with it.

  • I quell my fear of shark attacks while open water swimming with logic – I’m far more likely to die in a car crash driving home!

  • Meeting new people. I used to overcome it with alcohol, but now I’m working hard on my point of view and valuing myself.

  • I can’t stand eating anything with Coconut flakes or bits in it – it makes me feel awful. I “overcame” it by passing it all onto my hubby to eat!!

  • Spiders. I tried to overcome my fear, but believe me, it is not easy!

  • I experienced fear recently when I was diagnosed with liver cancer and after six weeks of tests I am pleased to say I am cancer free The sick feeling I had when told I would not wish upon anyone

  • I am terrified of huntsman spiders. I overcome it by screaming for someone to come and get the spider out or kill it or show me the pieces so I can stop shaking. Otherwise I almost go into meltdown. I can’t help it.

  • Fear of raising four children on my own
    After my hubby passed away
But we do it, altogether, one day at a time!

  • Being eaten alive by a crocodile, living in far north Queensland i see more crocs than people. I overcome it by being extremely careful with eyes at the bavk of my head near rivers and sea.

  • Travelling by plane. I took a small flight, gritted my teeth, sweated a lot, felt ill, but I did it, and I came back. Fear overcome!

  • Heights. I stay on the ground!

  • failure- I talk myself into things every day and when I succeed I say to myself “see you can do it!”

  • Fearlesss…. the name says it all… would love to have..
