It’s not too late to get creative and make the kids their very own advent calendar. This advent calendar is easy to make and you can whip it up in no time and the best bit is, you don’t have to be crafty.

What you’ll need:

  • A 24 hole muffin tin (or 2 12 hole ones)
  • 4 sheets of sticker foam or paper
  • Treats for your advent calendar

Method:

  1. Trace and cut out 24 circles big enough to cover your pan holes.
  2. Write numbers on your circles.
  3. Fill your muffin tin holes with treats.
  4. Remove the sticker backs from foam and stick over the hole to cover it.
  5. Using ribbon, tie and hang up your advent calendar.

I love this idea as it’s so simple and you can choose what treats you want to give the kids.

  • I am always happy when I find variations for advent calendars – this one is pretty good.

  • I want to make an advent calendar for my grandson. A wooden one that can be used over and over and you put your own gifts in. They get enough chocolate during the silly season

  • Very clever – and it will stop the “are we there yet” type of questions.

  • This is really clever. If it’s going to take up too much room maybe you could initially store the first one above the last one.

  • Nice idea, might take up a bit much room for us.

  • A good idea, but I’d use empty egg cartons instead, as I always need my muffin tins.

    • Egg cartons are a fabulous alternative too – good idea.

  • A cute and nice idea, though I think that I will stick to something a little fancier.
