Does anyone have any great tips to get water stains/marks off windows?

  • I’d use vinegar and wipe down with newspaper.

  • I use mostly & preferably vinegar and sometimes methylated spirits for a quick fix of nasty stains

  • your profile picture makes me smile sambii :)

  • Metho and newspaper is what we use and it works for us.

  • I’m going to have a look at the WD40 suggestion.

  • WD40… the WD stands for water dispersement. It is a bit toxic smelling though, so make sure you have lots of ventilation.

  • I’ve just come across Norwex and their polishing cloth works wonders on windows and mirrors. If the stains are bad you use an enviro cloth first and then finish with the polishing cloth. No need for chemicals.

  • Metho and newspaper that’s what my mum used to use and my grandmothers :)

  • The best way I know of is using methylated spirits. It cleans any stains and evaporates leaving no marks. It’s the best for glass and therefore windows.

  • Metho and newspaper super cheap and works better than the expensive products

  • Ever since I can remember, my Nan and my Mum always used newspaper and metho to clean the windows and they always sparkled :)

  • Detergent first then vinegar and water mixed together.

  • I never use anything but white vinegar in a spray bottle with some water, and wipe it off with newspaper. Clear and streak-free.

  • Wash with water and detergent, rinse with clean water, and then polish dry with newspaper – sometimes the old methods are the best!

  • Some great ideas. I might give vinegar a go.
