Hello!

If so how long ago? Any problems? I know it fixes short sightedness but has it also corrected your long vision? I have spoken to an ophthalmologist but just wanted some feedback from people with genuine first hand experience.

  • I wanted to buy opted against it as I heard once you have eye surgery you can’t have it again as it’s carving into your eye so if you have problems with your eyes later on down the track you won’t be able to fix them as you’ve already carved out that part of your eye!!!

  • No , but I had a work colleague in the past had it done and she highly recommended it as she no longer needed to wear her glasses . I thought about it once but still I chicken out .

  • Was great to find this on here as I had a similar question so good to read replies. I think cost is the only thing holding me back at the moment really.

  • Thank you for all your responses. I will definitely pursue this as my health fund cover a large portion of the cost. I just need to make a few more enquiries

  • My sister had it done 2yrs ago. Her eyesight before was terrible. She couldn’t see without contacts or glasses. The surgery cost her $5000 but she now has perfect vision & hasn’t used glasses or contacts since.

  • I did lasik surgery 13 years ago, it was the BEST thing I did – you need to be a 99.999% candidate to be able to do it, after initial consultation tests if they say you are able to I say definitely do it, obviously go to a very reputable laser vision clinic and do your research.

  • sorry can’t help but am very interested to hear other comments as hubby has been thinking about this. Best of luck to you.

  • l would love to have this done too. l am worried though because some people (a small percentage l know) end up with worse eye sight.

  • interesting to hear feedback, will be following

  • I’m interested in hearing the answers, not just for myself but for hubby.

  • I was advised (by one of the clinics) that they could only fix short sighted ness. That was a few years ago, though.

  • I know 2 people who have had this done and both say it was the best thing they ever did and it was quick and fast recovery.

  • My cousin also benefitted from this surgery & no longer wears glasses.

  • My sister in law had this done a few years ago, she’s a police officer so it has been great not having to wear glasses anymore. She hasn’t mentioned any problems so far, my husband is also considering having the procedure done. I think these things have come a long way in the last few years.
