Hello!

Is it okay for new baby to share a room with toddler sibling?

  • I don’t understand the 2 comments below…what joy do you feel to post this ?

  • Who wants to fuck with me.

  • Who wants some sex with

  • Of course it is ok, it’s done all over the world, but the question is if it is handy. It’s especially dependent of the behaviour of your toddler; would your toddler keep baby awake, would your toddler touch the baby, would your toddler be jealous of the attention baby gets, does your baby feed in the night and would that wake your toddler ? etc

  • I could only see an issue if they have different sleep patterns and having one waking the other at inappropriate times

  • My dad shared a room with 5 siblings …. 13 people in a 2 bedroom house!

  • It all depends on how well the toddler slerps and how easily each goes down for sleep. I had a 5 year gap but found that they would wake each other up.

  • i think it depends on how often the baby wakes up and what sort of sleeper the older child is

my eldest girls (2 years apart) slept in the same room but the oldest one sleeps like the dead and never woke up whrn her sister cried

  • It has been working for years for those parents back in the day, I liked my babies in the room with me, so I did not have to walk so far. As long as the other child is trusted, it works ;)

  • I can’t see why not. I’d prepare the older sibling well in advance that they are going to have a roommate though – just to help with the transition. It’s unlikely one will wake the other unless they are in a lighter stage of sleep, but you don’t have to be sharing a room for this to happen – if my bub wakes after 5:30am, generally my 4 year old will wake and they have separate rooms. I think it’s lovely for siblings to share a room, and they will grow to love and appreciate each others’ company.
