Hello!

My children are spaced from 31 years old to nearly 1 year. I have 6 children the only planned ones were number 1 and 3. Number 2 came after I miscarried a baby. They is 16 years between the older ones and the younger ones in that 31, 29, nearly 27, 10 and twins 1 in Dec. I do not regret any of my children but at 52 have been told I should had aborted the twins as I am too old for them. I do admit I am more tired with them and glad of the older boys support. I am being called granny by most people and when told they are my own there is shock in their eyes. With luck I will finally become a grand parent next year but still think It was not wrong to not get rid of them.

  • Btw I adopted two children into my family when I was 50 years old, both with additional needs and no way do I consider myself to old.

  • You did absolutely nothing wrong! You chose the right decision at the time and although things are hard, you still made the right decision. Parenting can be hard. I am only 31 and struggle alot with my fatigue due to health conditions. Your just doing this parenting gig a little later in life..and that’s ok!

  • Of course it wasn’t wrong not to get rid of them !
Some people have their children when young, other when older.
I was 40 when I had my first one. I’m turning 58 in November and get called granny too. I just smile and say “thank you” and don’t take that in any way personal. I’m an older mum indeed and nothing wrong with that. Head up high and enjoy your kids !

  • If you love them, and are doing the best for them, then the rest is not an issue. Yes, you’re an older mum, but there are far worse things.

  • It is a hard topic and you would have thought this very hard otherwise you would not have had them . In the end ,there is a reason for everything and only it is now that you are very tired that you are thinking this . I think it is unkind to actually say that to you and that is something to be ignore instantly and not go back rethinking your decision and causing you more stress. Hopefully there is Me time in between and don’t forget to look after yourself as well. All the best .

  • Sweety do not listen to those rotten people! How dare they say you should have aborted your precious twins. As for getting tired we all do. My youngest son has a very active 2 year and said he gets worn out and tired at the end of the day and says to me he is amazed how I managed looking after 4 and he is only 36! lol!! He says I deserve a medal.

  • People can be so cruel!
I think it is absolutely wonderful that you were blessed to fall pregnant again later in life, & twins is a double gift!
Don’t let other people get you down about your family. It is your family & you do what is best for them.
Ask yourself, could you imagine life without your beautiful twins? Really?
They must bring so much joy to your life! It is understandable that you get tired, I think any one who has twins would get tired at any age!
Each & everyone of your children is a perfect gift, you were not selfish. You were blessed for a reason, you were made to mother your children, not anyone else.
You made the right choice to not abort your children & I am sure you are giving them the best possible life.
Be proud, I am sure there are many women who would love to be in your position!
Don’t let a few negative people make you feel down, you’re an inspiration!

  • What a wonderful surprise to fall pregnant and your age, nearly miracle material there. And to be expecting twins…..double miracle. Of course you shouldn’t have aborted them, they obviously wanted to be here

  • Every baby is a gift…. hope its all going well.

  • Definitely should not feel guilty for not aborting. Anyone who says otherwise is crazy! I’m sure you’re doing the best you can. Others should have no say in such important and life changing decisions.

  • It was meant to be good luck xx

  • hope that you are not letting anything affect you now

  • It is your business and your choice and your life!

  • great answers from the mums
it’s amazing how older people will judge a teen mum harshly but not so much an older one so don’t worry. i think just ignore it or make a joke

  • No you didn’t do wrong, you wanted your children. You love your children. Age is just a number… Though sometimes l really do feel my age. Don’t worry about what others think. They are no you an living your life.
