Hello!

Our child in 3 made a solar oven at school and wants to replicate at home. Any fun ideas of what to “cook” in it. I wanted to do something different to what they did at school (melting marshmallows and chocolate between dry biscuits). Any ideas?

  • How awesome, did you start experimenting yet ?

  • I can’t say I’ve ever heard of it.

  • Thanks again – I have done a lot of research on solar ovens – just brilliant!

  • Wow! this sounds interesting and a whole lot of fun – will need to research this one.

  • i googled it and it is so simple and cool! i want to make one with the kids but i didn’t find much specific information about what people actually cook in these things. i saw someone’s blog had a hotdog! i will give it a go on stuff that only requires melting at first.

  • could you tell us more about this? i haven’t heard of it before but it seems like a really cool idea. good fun for the school holidays!

  • What an awesome little creation to be able to make. Kids have so much fun at school. I would probably cook something basic to start with, such as a toasted sandwich. And increase the difficulty level when you suss out what it’s capable of
