Hello!

We will be travelling to Sydney for a couple of days soon. Any ideas for family friendly things to see and do there? We will be staying close to the CBD and have children aged between 3 and 12.

  • Take a ferry over to Tarongo Zoo, visit the wildlife park or luna park

  • A ferry ride is a must!

  • They have great package deals on going to the wildlife park, aquarium, Madame Tussaud and the tower eye. That will take up a good couple of days and all around the same area too.

  • I like to go to darling harbour. Lots of things to do!

  • go to the zoo go over on the ferry for a little extra fun for the kids.

  • Take them yo the fish market and have lunch it is amazing a ferry ride is also a good idea

  • Darling Harbour – Aquarium, wildlife world, ferry to manly from circ quay the manly aquarium is smaller (might be good for 3yr old) lots of places to get ice cream in Manly, imax, beaches, theres luna park and harbour cruises incl whale watching in winter, museum contemporary art (circ quay) often have free entry and activites for kids. Powerhouse museum if your children are interested in that sort of thing. The zoo is good too

  • Check out Newtown, it’s a pretty quick train ride from the city, very quirky fun place with lots of cafes, art, music and boutiques, Chinatown because there’s so much for food and interesting shopping. NSW Art gallery, Darling Quarter Park – great for little kids. Botanical Gardens.

  • Paddy’s Market, Powerhouse Museum, Australian Museum, Taronga Zoo, Sealife Aquarium, Wild Life Zoo, Opera House, Tower Eye & Skywalk, Bondi Beach, Manly Beach, Harbour Bridge, Chinese Garden of Friendship, Darling Harbour, Madame Tussauds, Queen Victoria Building, Luna Park.

It really depends on what your family likes to see but our kids had alot of fun at both the museums and at Taronga Zoo.

  • Sorry, here the address for the Powerhouse Museum http://maas.museum/powerhouse-museum/?gclid=CN2Fi-igwsUCFUgGvAodc2cAvA

  • My favourite place is Featherdale Wildlife Park, where kids can feed kangaroos, emus, sheep.. It’s really lovely. But it’s a little bit far, around 45 minutes driving I guess, so you will have to rent a car to go there. http://www.featherdale.com.au/park-information/?stid=a102f&gclid=CKCnq7SdwsUCFQ1xvAod-C0AGA
If one day it’s raining you could go to the Powerhouse Museum, always full of entertainment for the kids. http://www.featherdale.com.au/park-information/?stid=a102f&gclid=CKCnq7SdwsUCFQ1xvAod-C0AGA
The National Maritime Museum is also nice!! Kids would love going in the submarine!! :-) http://www.anmm.gov.au/
