  • Fireworks in our local area were cancelled so we stayed home.

  • Homebodies with kids. When our kids are a bit older we’ll end up doing a joint NY eve party with friends with similar aged kids. That’s how I grew up and it was always a lot of fun.

  • we can see the fireworks from our front lawn so that is a bonus

  • We do to. Sometimes things can get way out of control on New Years Eve. You can still celebrate the new year!

  • my husband works every New Years Eve as he is in hospitality so we just usually stay home and I’m in bed well before midnight. We do try to watch the fireworks on the television at 9pm.

  • We usually stay at home with the kids and watch the NY specials on tv. BBQ, a few drinks and a few games of UNO :) then go up to our veranda and stand on our tippytoes trying to see the fireworks from the city… You can just see Melbourne from our veranda

  • Look at community notices for lists of activities on New Years Eve. – there are plenty of free activities on New Years Eve!

  • Last 2 years have gone down to a park near beach where they play a movie then watch fireworks

  • It depends – spend it with family and friends at a party or at home with a small gathering. Love to watch fireworks wherever we end up on the night/morning!

  • We used to go out and see in the new year at a party or function. Not anymore, leave it to the young ones now a days

  • Often stay at home and enjoy a fun night in with family and friends.

  • Me too! We generally go and watch the fireworks at 9 pm and then we head home.
