  • I find white tiger balm the most effective on mossie bites

  • I put an X in them, maybe scratch the top off, then I apply methylated spirits. It stings a bit but does stop the itching

  • Depends how old child is? I have used sting aid which works but smells bad. But my kids get a pretty bad reaction so doctor told me to use a steroid cream (eczema cream) and phenergan. But my best tip is esp during summer make sure your kids are eating Vegemite (sandwich, toast or on a cracker) at least once a day. Not sure what’s in it but the mozzies don’t bite!

  • May sound a bit out there, but my son gets munched by mozzies and toothpaste seems to work (not the gel kind – the white paste). Teatree oil is also good, but you’ll have to be careful on delicate skin

  • Stingos or calamine lotion works best I think… Goodluck

  • Tea tree oil for adults. When it is a baby/toddler , the childhood nurse told me only need to wash the bite under cold water for a few days , no need to apply anything as it is more hygienic. It worked .

  • I use tea tree oil – it stops the sting and disinfects the area at the same time.

  • Camomile lotion, toothpaste, tea tree, sting goes to name a few options

  • When we were kids Dad used to cut open a tomato & wipe it over the bite, no more sting!
We do it with our kids now, no pain & instant relief!

  • Try rubbing lavender oil! Success!!

  • I scratch the top off and dab with metho. My mother in laws handy tip

  • Aloe Vera – it works straight away and stops the itch – really good on sunburn and midgie bites too. We have a plant and you just break off a leaf and apply the gel

  • White vinegar!! Stops the itch straight away!

  • Soap… rub a bar of dry soap on the bite.

  • you don’t want to get bitten in the first place with a mozzie. You need to repel them. Paw paw might be okay after but that’s too late.
