  • Kale is a nutrition superstar due to the amounts of vitamins A, K, B6 and C, calcium, potassium, copper and manganese it contains. One cup of raw kale has just 33 calories and only 7 grams of carbohydrate. So, it’s a very diabetes-friendly/weight-friendly vegetable.

  • It is a least green. It can be like spinach. In my experience there’s 1 type thats really mild tasting and is yum. The 2nd type is REALLY strong and may not be to everyone’s taste

  • Nothing like spinach. Smaller leaves of Kale is best to start with because the bigger ones are tougher. I can only eat them as Kale chips, recipes can be found on the internet. But all dark leafy greens are good for you too.

  • I’ve tried two different types of kale. One was subtle flavour that could be used in many ways. The other was a really strong flavour that would limit how it could be used

  • Not all kale tastes like shit. You can get different types. Sone are really mellow tasting and delicious. Others are really overpowering, give them a miss

  • Thank you for your honest comment! lol I probably don’t need to try it now. lol!!!!

  • Kale tastes like shit and is not as good for you as people rave about… good old broccoli, zucchini, spinach, etc are way better for you!

  • I don’t think I will have it in a smoothie! lol!!

  • Keen to follow this. I’ve heard Kale can be quite chewy. Apparently its super healthy though, I wonder if its easy to grow yourself?

  • I believe it is a type of spinach and it must be healthy as I tried it in a shake and it was bloody awful! Kale ‘chips’ aren’t too bad however and my 2 yr old will eat them!

  • You will have to tell me how to do these kale chips.

  • I quite like kale too. I add it to smoothies, you can use it in savory pies, or make kale chips indeed.

  • kale is good for your health! its kind of helping you detox

  • Alas our local supermarket has no kale. I WILL HAVE TO GO FURTHER AFIELD.

  • Its a green leafy vegetable and consider a superfood
