Hello!

“Hi Moms, my question is not when to give our daughter a phone but what phone plan/ carrier is the best? She is almost 13 & travels to school on a bus in rural Vic. We would like some feedback on which companies & plans people have found the best. My husband & I both have Telstra contacted phones but am thinking a pre-paid one would be best for her. Has anyone tried the Aldi or Woolworth ones? Thanks”

  • I would go with a Telstra pre-paid plan. The coverage is good and that’s most important.

  • For the best phone coverage, Telstra is your best option. Where I live, many other phone companies do not have as good coverage, some have none at all. So check your coverage first up

  • I’m with Optus $2 days.
I can text, call, picture message all day long as much as I want for $2!
Plus I get I think its 500mb of internet.
It’s a great plan & if you run out of credit & its an emergency fear not you can get $3 credit through I.O.U which will be automatically deducted out of your next recharge :)
I’ll never change plans & recommend this one to everyone I know.

  • I are with Telstra, but I have heard the aldi deals are great

  • you want one that has only the basic functions

  • there are some good comments here

  • Hope you found a good plan suitable for your teenager.

  • I have a Telstra plan… has always worked well for me and I don’t have to worry about recharging or being out of credit when i need it.

  • What phone did you end up getting?

  • How is your daughter going with a mobile phone?

  • What did you end up choosing?

  • I would go with pre-paid, which ever model you get!

  • I have an Optus phone but from what I know Telstra generally provides the best coverage in rural areas.

  • Prepaid telephone and choose one that has buttons rather than a glass face (robust).

  • optus prepaid has some pretty good plans
