This is one of the nicest sausage recipe bases I’ve tried. So simple and so delicious. My fussy 4 year old loves it and I love that it’s an easy meal with leftovers for lunch.

With a chef for a husband, I always felt like using a recipe base in slow cooking was lazy, until I had bub number 4. I needed help and decided to try recipe bases. The Sausage Hotpot was one of the first I tried and it was such a hit with the kids that I now make sure to include it in the trolley each shopping trip. It’s simple to make, but full of rich, tomato-y flavour. I alway add more veggies (like egg plant) and if I am having extra people for dinner, I will add extra sausages as well as maybe some more crushed tomatoes and water, just to stretch it out. I highly recommend it!
