A super easy Gluten Free dessert that can also be a great way of using up apples. This is yummy served hot with whipped cream, but is also great the next day cold.

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 4 Granny Smith Apples
  • 1 Tablespoon White Sugar
  • 3/4 Cup Gluten Free Self Raising Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 60grams Butter

Method

  1. Peel, Core and Slice your apples and place them in a baking dish that is both microwave and oven safe. Sprinkle your apples with the white sugar and then cover with gladwrap and place in the microwave and cook on high for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes.
  2. While the apple is cooking start making your crumble. In a bowl combine the flour, sugar and butter and using your hands blend the butter in to the flour and sugar until it resemble bread crumbs,.
  3. Take your apple out of the microwave, carefully remove the gladwrap and spread your crumble mix over the top. Bake this in a 180C oven for approximately 20mins or until you can see the apple bubbling and your crumble is starting to brown.

Notes

I have a family that is not keen on cinnamon but this would also be yummy with a little cinnamon sprinkled over the apples while cooking and also added to the crumble. You can also easily double or triple this to make a larger dessert or if you have lots of apples to use up.
