A base recipe that you can add to. Sometimes I add Gruyere Cheese and Bacon, other times, just veg.
The disposable containers mean I can make a few and par cook and freeze them, like I did with this one

Ingredients (serves 6 | makes 6 slices)

  • 1 packet short crust pastry
  • 8 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • veges of your choice - about 2-3 cups, I like mine really veg filled

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees line disposable foil pie/quiche dish with pastry - going up on the sides like I have if you like it rustic looking
  2. Veges include onion, spinach, tomato, mushies, roast left over orange veg
  3. mix eggs, cream, and veges plus salt and pepper and pour into casing
  4. cook for around 45 minutes - if it still has a bit of a wobble, will be fine, as the heat within the dish will continue to cook the quiche

Notes

As there are carbs in the pastry, we serve it with brocollini, or a steamed veg of choice

  • What a yummy, versatile recipe ad a great way to use up left overs or any vegies you have left in the fridge.

  • Looks like a adaptable recipe, I wonder if there are any egg substitutes that would work well for the 8 eggs..

  • Quiche in any form is a great way of cooking an easy meal. Love the idea of the disposal dish at least with that do not have to worry about the dish not coming home. Teens need an easy go to for meals.

  • There are so many different flavours you can add to a quiche. I love the all veg option and would maybe serve with a salad instead of more veg

  • I didn’t realize quiche would freeze well! Any tips for defrosting and cooking once it’s been in the freezer? Thanks!
