Hello!

I took Miss Two out to do the grocery shopping and it ended up in tears! As a first time mum I was feeling embrassment, anger, disappointment and sadness as I watched my little one have a complete and utter melt down and was basically being a sh**.

I just want to thank the kind stranger, who gave me a wink and calmly told me, been there, done that, chin up, it gets easier. You saved me!

  • A lot of people have been parents, so yes, a lot of people know what it’s like to have toddlers and supermarket tantrums! Most people don’t even bother turning their heads!

  • So true, I try to give other mums the, its okay its not just your kids that behave like that, mine is 9 and still occasionally has meltdowns in the shopping centre, us mums have to stick together!

  • Its always good when others dont judge you for what happens to all mums at times when shopping, I have three kids somethimes we can all go shopping with out a melt down. But usually there is at least one that does my head in when they dont get what they want.

  • That would have really helped, sometimes you just need that bit of encouragement.

    • It’s amazing how a smile from a stranger can help in time like these.

  • It’s so nice when strangers make positive comments rather than glare at you and mutter under their breath. They have obviously forgotten what it’s like to have kids and that they often can’t be reasoned with!

  • It is amazing the difference a look or a comment can make to your day. Unfortunately there are negative people out there but as a mum you learn to become resilient to negativity especially from strangers. Glad you were able to make it through an awful situation and stay strong!

  • Oh dear worst experience. Those are lovely words. So true most people don’t judge a child’s meltdown but just feel sympathy. Well done on surviving your shopping trip :)
