Our 13 grand daughter is going to high school next year ,she’s lived with us since 2yrsold .I’m not updated on what happens ,eg technology needed etc .We trying to keep on top of things but not sure about how to let her learn in safety .Cyber safe ,Im not sure myself ,where should I go to see &learn what I have to do .? Any ideas please.

  • there should be community programs that teach people computer skills for example. it is never too late to learn though! good on ya!

  • talking to the school ahead of time would help I think. My son’s school had a cyber space awareness flyer come home. The library is a wonderful idea as well, as they often have programs you can attend

  • Local libraries can be very helpful,they usually can guide you to what and where in your town is available.

  • Keep in tight with school they will help you adjust just as much as your grand daughter also talk to local community centres they may have people who can help explain changes with cyber experiences

  • What she needs will depend on what school she attends. I’d ask the school if they can tell you, and I’d ask the local TAFE if they have a seminar to give you guidance. Lots do.
