I might be bias since I work in the financial services industry but I see what happens when people don’t look at their budget and lifestyle each year. A yearly review is so important as an adviser can make sure that your investment risk profile suits your current situation, and that you have nominated or updated your beneficiary on your superannuation accounts, or need to be reminded to see a legal professional for a new will or power of attorney. Please make an appointment with a financial planner for the benefit of your family.

  • The ASIC website has a list of advisers, and details of the ones to avoid with current litigation. Best to search the name of the adviser you intend to see and make sure they’re not on the bad list.
