Hello!

Coming into Halloween I thought it would be a good (or not so good ) idea to share my experience. Stop reading now if you get spooked easily.

We moved into this 2 bedroom house a few years ago in a suburban area in QLD that had been recently renovated.

I always felt eerie there. You know that feeling you get as if some ones watching? Well that was me 24/7 for the whole 8 months we lived there. My son who was around 2 years old at the time would refuse to go to the toilet himself (he was doing well at toilet training prior) and refused to be left for a few minutes If I needed to go to the toilet or quickly get changed. He was never a clingy child prior to this. We had friends over one night and I had to work the next day so I decided to call it a night around 10pm. My husband and our friends were still having a few drinks and talking out the back. I had the hallway light on and could vaguely see something shiny moving. I got my phone and used the torch function on it to shine it towards whatever was moving thinking maybe it was just my imagination or my eyes playing tricks on me. As I shone it towards this object I noticed my husband wizards statue mini sword was spinning as if someone was standing there turning it. As soon as the light shone brighter the spinning stopped suddenly. I quickly ran out of the room and sat with my husband and friends outside for a while. Later that night when we went to bed, I woke up to a blood curdling scream from my 2 year olds son room. I quickly jumped out of bed and ran to his room. I walked in and his room was like a freezer (it was the middle of summer). I quickly picked my son up and took him back to our room and he slept in our bed for the night after I made sure he wasn’t hurt in anyway. That night I couldn’t sleep, I found myself laying in bed just staring at the ceiling.

The next night I was very reluctant to go to sleep. When I decided it was time to bite the bullet so to speak, I found myself standing at the doorway in our bedroom ready to turn the light off when I sensed something and immediately turned the light back on. Upon squinting down our semi dark hallway I could see a figure of a shadow and a small shadow beside it at the end of the hallway. I had heard if you tell spirits they’re not welcome that they aren’t aloud to stay but wasn’t sure how accurate this was but at this stage anything was worth a try. I yelled out “You are scaring us and please leave”. To my surprise, the shadows started to fade away.

The next morning I was talking to our new next door neighbours about our experience. The lady’s face went really pale and seemed to be in shock. When I asked her what was going on. She replied that there used to be an elderly man and his little dog live there only a few months before we moved in. The man had passed away in the home and the dog a few days later when no one found him. The house was originally carpeted. When we moved in they had pulled up all the carpet prior due to the stench and tiled throughout. We didn’t see him again whilst we were there but I hope his found the light.

I’m happy to say we now live in a non haunted house with my husband and our 2 boys now :-)

  • That is a spooky story. I’m slightly saddened to read it though. That poor man died alone and no one even noticed, so his dog also died. No wonder he wasn’t at peace when he passed. What a tragedy

  • That must have been scary for you.

    • It was. I’m one of those people that are always skeptical about everything and anything. So for this to actually happen I was in disbelief for a while.

  • I have lived at many a houses, I believe spirits stay behind if they haven’t finished what needs to be done, you always need to tell them they are not welcome, when we moved into our new home for 2 weeks I could hear a baby cry if get up check my son and he was sound asleep, would say we are new owners please leave then we never heard it again, I’ve had plates thrown Accross the room at my old house frames fall off walls end up Accross other end of room. It’s a very scary experiencez

    • That does sound extremely scary. I’m glad our experience wasn’t as frightening and glad yous are ok
