Hello!

So after a stressful day at work and having a sick baby I said to my husband that I did not feel like cooking dinner. He told me he was okay with that, we can just have eggs.

When I told my daughter she said that’s okay she loves eggs, but can we also have bacon, I said sure. Then just before dinner, hubby found hasbrowns in the freezer and asked me to add those. My daughter suggested to add baked beans.

While I was cooking the eggs, bacon, hasbrowns and baked beans, my daughter pulled out english muffins and said, could you do these up and we can have breakfast burgers.

So I ended up cooking bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, baked beans and english muffins and doing up brekkie burgers with cheese and sauce added. So much for not cooking huh?

  • Well done on the huge cook up and do hope you are all feeling much better now.
Thinking takeout might be in order for next “I don’t feel like cooking night” .LOL.

  • Haha yes I totally relate! Although unfortunately that is me most nights, but I just push on & cook anyway. Have just had my sister-in-law with us for a few weeks, & she loves cooking so I was absolutely enjoying the time off!

  • I was reading this and thought…but your cooking! LOL
When I say I don’t feel like cooking, it is take away. I have easy nights like toasties or basic sandwiches. But I love the night when I don’t have to cook

  • I’ve had that happen to me too!

  • Sounds like my place! We try to save and not have too many take aways. But sometimes I just say I’m not cooking this weekend unless others help. Its my weekend too!

  • That sounds like my not cooking nights used to look like. Now I just call them takeaway nights and ask what people what or suggest and book a restaurant.

  • I place left over casseroles into mini pots in the freezer that I place puff pastry over the top & we have instant homemade pot pies ready for those I’m too tired to cook nights.

  • Not Fair to you, Your hubby could of put his hand up and cooked the eggs etc, they were his suggestion after all. Although it will cost my suggestion is next time say Im not cooking tea but i will order us take away. I have learnt if i say to hubby lets order takeaway (pizza or chinese his favorite ones) He is usually all for it. I also add but if you want to save money how about you cook. Sometimes he does but mostly he happy for the night off as well, I pull this one about once a month.

  • I think thats a great way to cook and its simple. I could probably survive for a few weeks with whats in my fridge for a quick cook up!. What I do quite a lot is when I am cooking, I make extra. Its just as easy to cook a great big pot of soup or stew so I make enough so that I can freeze some. Its great when I don’t feel like cooking as I can get a healthy meal straight from the freezer to the microwave. It healthy, quick and cost effective and allows you to take advantage of seasonal produce prices.

  • lol my hubby would have got a pizza straight up but i know it is hard when the people that you love ask you for things and you are just so tired BUT you love making them happy and therefore go the extra mile for them
