Story In reception and breaking the rules.

So my husband let our 5 year old use his broken phone to play a game on. The next day i dropped her at school before i went off to work. When i got home hubby told me that he had to go to thw school after hrs to collect thw phone that she had taken to school with her. He told her off and toom the phone away, after their talk she told him not to tell me
Obviously he told me when i got home but i havent mentioned it. Not long after i remembered her friend asking his mum if he could have a phone because Madi had one. Then i realised she had sneaked the phone to school without me knowing. I hate to think what else is yet to come

  • It is good that you and your husband are providing a united front and keeping together without secrets. Imagine if he hadn’t told you she was caught with phone! Did you and hubby, or the school, suggest any discipline for the child? It seems she knows that she wasn’t meant to have the phone and so some consequence is necessary to send the right message. As you say she is only in reception and it is best to make sure she knows discipline boundaries from the start (whether you agree with phones or not at school a rule is a rule and she will have to learn to comply with situations like this through life).   • Our class had a rush of ” I want a phone like…” Turned out her Mum had disabled everything but the camera on an old phone she brought to school.
