For all those who were following my story, I would just like to let you all know
im 10 days post surgery
I had a preventive double mastectomy with diep reconstruction
it was a 12 hr surgery and a long hard, sore and tiring week in hospital befre I was alowed to come home
im doing very well. I was sippose to be in hospital for 10 days but I was doing so well they let me home early
im so proud of what I have done for myself and for my family
I feel so proud and empowered
no regrets at all
and I feel somewhat a victory over cancer for all the damage it has caused my family and knowing I have now less then 2% chance of getting breast cancer.
Being 24 yrs old was both harder but more inspiring. The support and love ive received has been amazing.
this was all for myself, my 3 beautiful kids and my amazing husband
for my love ones that have suffered under cancer and the loved ones ive lost
especially for my dad who I lost from cancer 22nd jan 2014

  • Ah Emma, it can’t have been an easy decision for you, but how empowering the decision that you took was. I’ve lost family members and friends to cancer, and it’s a hideous and heart-breaking disease. Power to you my dear, and I hope & pray that all continues to go well for you.
