Hello!

Our primary school aged child has been playing team sports for a few years now, and at the end of each season everyone is presented with a trophy. Just finished the Basketball season (never done basketball before), and there were no trophies. It was such a nice change, and not one of the children commented – they all left super proud and happy, and excited about playing again next year – just as sport should be.

  • My son played Auskick in primary school. Everyone got a participation trophy at the end of the season. I thought it was nice to celebrate everyone’s contributions, not just the talented few. I know my son was stoked!

  • As long as kids are playing sport – it is the main thing. I do not mind if people get participation medallions and the winners and runners up get trophies.

  • That’s the spirit! It should happen more often! :-)

    • Agreed! It’s important to learn to play sport for the sheer enjoyment of same – not pick and choose sports that give trophies for participation.
