Every time I’m shopping there are small children running all over the place, running into me, pulling things from shelves, touching foods, putting their fingers through the plastic wrapped meat while the parent seems to ignore the behaviour. My children used to have to hold the trolley as I ventured down the aisles. Perhaps I’m getting older and less tolerant but I see this behaviour as unacceptable.

  • I think there are certain areas where they have more smaller children than the usual. If I want to shop relaxed I have to go to a quieter area away from crowds. It might also be those kids as I don’t see it that often . Certainly doesn’t look good and especially dangerous with kids running around .

  • I don’t see much of this, not the extent you do. The parents should be stopping their children from doing so, especially the poking holes through the plastic etc. I can’t condemn anyone entirely though, as you never know what the parent in charge is going through. They might be so utterly depressed they’re barely hanging on, and they getting the shopping done alone is a huge task let alone dealing with their children properly. I hope things improve for them.

  • I feel the same. The children are often running up,and down the aisles screaming and carrying on, while their parents are many aisles away. It’s scarey to think of what could happen to these kids. And I still feel guilty when they bump into them. How weird is that?!

  • Yes, some children can be a bit unruly.

  • Yes I agree it is something that they need to learn at a young age thoug, so that as they get older and start walking instead of in the trolley have already learnt the proper way of behaving in public.

  • I must admit that I have not seen this occur where I shop.

  • Sometimes I see similar situations too. I’m going around with my trolley and suddenly I have to break because small kids appear from nowhere. And it’s not that I was running. I agree that sometimes kids should be checked a little bit more.
