So I heard there was a recall on certain Toyotas Due to fault passenger airbags. Our cars are both Toyota, not new. I was totally shocked to find both our cars are on the list of recalls.
Even more shocked to find that replacement parts won’t be available until next year.
I have tried phoning Toyota, as I am scared about us driving our cars, but of course they are flat out and I had to leave a message. Im still waiting for them to call me back. it’s very frustrating.

  • I am in the same boat….or car should I say ;)
Both our cars are on the list so it’s worrying when we have to use our cars everyday but the issue may not be fixed until next year!

  • From what I heard there are millions of cars that need to be recalled. Is going to take some time to get through them all

  • I finally spoke to them. They told me the only risk is if the car crashes and the passenger air bag goes off. In saying that, there have been no issues with cars that’s air bags have been deployed in Australia.
I asked if the airbag could be disconnected, they are looking into it, as that may make the car unroadworthy.

    • wow safety first though. i understand how inconveinient this will be to your family

  • It is a bit of a worry! At least it has been identified and is on the way to being rectified but not really a good enough time frame! I would be worried to drive mine

  • Thank you. I have calmed down. I am still trying to contact them

    • Glad to hear and I hope it is resolved soon.

  • Just keep trying to contact them but don’t freak out in the meantime.

  • I would suggest you email them too. They should have an email ‘contact us’ facility available on their website. It may help with getting a quicker response or any response. Hope this works out for you.
