Hello!

My two pregnancies and labours were uneventful. Everything progressed as it should and I gave birth to two healthy girls each time. I swam, walked and practice yoga whilst pregnant. One baby was born a couple of days late, one was one week early. Both labours were natural, with only minor tearing with the first.

The reason why I’m writing about my ‘normal’ experiences is that more often than not, we hear of the sad or scary things they happen during pregancy and labours, and this is just my gentle reminder, that it’s not always so.

  • I also had two normal preganancies and births….the second was so quick that the doctor and my husband missed it as it was all over in 15 minutes after getting to the birthing suite (I was frantically ringing the buzzer for the midwife and holding my legs together)

  • I think it’s good for first time mum to hear ‘normal’ stories.

  • Yes, but it’s the nasty ones people need support around, that’s why they talk about them.

  • Love the positive attitude. My labours were also uneventful and fairly smooth. I think after the first baby you are more prepared as you know what to expect.

  • My labour was uneventful as well. Best advice I really appreciated was mothers from uni, who actually had ‘terrible’ births… But they both said even though it didn’t go to plan, birth was lovely and to not be scared. It was comforting to hear positive attitudes
