Hello!

I made the mistake this week of buying the Lego Dimensions starter pack for the kids. I liked the idea that it was more than just a video game with them building lego as they went along. However I had no idea how many expansions and packs I would need to buy to enable them to have full game play and unlock every area. Maybe Santa will only be buying expansions for Christmas or maybe we will just have to try and get a few of their favourites.

  • lol i have bought this for the kids. i don’t think it is bad at all. my eldest took longer to get through this game than the SKYLANDERS game.

the cheapest packs that you buy are giving you an additional character and the bigger packs ($30) come with the character, vehicle and an additional level that won’t affect the standard gameplay at all! It will enhance it!

the extra packs are to add variety and interest to the game.

There currently is the “back to the future pack”, “the simpsons”, “scooby doo” and “batman” packs. They will be bringing out more packs in the future.

Although yes you can buy these packs, THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED!. They are totally optional! The game does come with a starter pack of characters etc

My kids love the game. Yo can mix and match all these packs as you please!

Be Homer simpson, driving the batmobile in the Scooby Doo level!

  • Lego is a wonderful toy. I remember having bucketfuls of Lego when I was a kid. My mum gave it all away when I was a teen. How I wished she had kept it for when my children became interested in it and I too realised how expensive it had become :/

  • I looked at them in Target on the weekend! Thanks for the tip!
(Making a mental note: discourage nearly 6 year old from wanting Lego Dimensions!!)

  • I do hate it when you have to buy 227 things to play “properly”.
