A primary school teacher has been charged over an alleged classroom assault.

Nine news reports a 10-year-old student in Western Australia’s Peel region was pushed by the teacher.

Police say the 46-year-old man stood in front of the boy, grabbed his shirt and then pushed him backwards into a bookcase.

The man has been charged with assault and will appear at Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

  • Not good ! This happened with a teacher at our kids school. She didn’t get charged as far as I know, but was observed for half a year or so.

  • Regardless of what the child did, it is still inexcusable for the teacher to treat a child like that.

  • That’s not good! As a teacher I know never to touch a child in anger… every teacher knows this!
