Frightening vision has emerged showing the moment a toddler tumbles out of a van onto a busy highway in China.

The heart-stopping vision was captured on a dash-cam on the car behind.

In the footage, the toddler can be seen tumbling out of the boot of the van, before getting back up onto his feet and running after the vehicle. The child’s oblivious grandfather failed to notice anything and continued to drive away.

The grandfather says – “I was waiting at the red light. After passing the intersection a car chased after me and kept sounding the horn. The driver told me a kid fell out of my van. I looked back, parked my van aside and went back to search for my grandson.”

One very lucky little boy!

  • This is unbelievable. How was this child in a position to even get out of the van? Glad the little guy was okay; it could have been a disaster.

  • Oh my god this is unbelievable, thank goodness it did not end badly.

  • Oh my goodness. That could have ended so badly. It looked like there wasn’t even a car seat in the back

  • Maybe the Grandpa thought the door was shut properly. Some vehicles have a beeping signal when a door or the boot isn’t closed properly. Maybe it has gas struts which have failed. The toddler could easily have been hit by a truck. THe truck going past would not have seen the child as he would be too low to the road to show in his rear visiion or side mirrors.

  • That’s terrible! Luckily nothing happened to the little boy. Looking at how he was crossing the street is so distressful!
Don’t they use seat belts in China?

  • Child restraint? Can a van door be opened from the inside, or was the locking mechanism broken?

  • Oh my gosh thank god it wasn’t while the car was in full motion! How does this even happen?!

  • Oh my, this is terrifying. Thank goodness we have such stringent seatbelt and baby car seat rules.

  • Glad the little one is okay, but the car behind took their sweet time to grab the toddler, seemed he was running on the highway in danger for a while…

  • Um…WOW! Shouldn’t the child have been strapped into a seat?!
