Garlic isn’t just for flavour or keeping the vampires away!

Mounting research says it could be the ‘silver bullet’ for people with high blood pressure as well as for general wellbeing.

But not just any garlic will do – age matters when it comes to reaping the health benefits.

Specially formulated aged garlic extract is made from organic cloves of garlic, grown free from herbicides, pesticides or other chemicals.  Then they’re aged for up to 20-months in a special process to lock in the antioxidants and other goodies. Ageing thankfully also eliminated the garlic odour too.

So what can aged garlic extract do for you and your family?

Get the Pressure Down

Breakthrough Aussie research has found that aged garlic extract may significantly lower blood pressure in people with hypertension.[i]

In fact, the 2016 study found aged garlic extract is effective even in people who have tried prescription medicine but still suffer uncontrolled high blood pressure.

The 12-week study by the National Institute of Integrative Medicine (NIIM) in Melbourne found Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract reduced systolic blood pressure by 11 points for about 70 per cent of participants.

We all know that heart disease is a big killer in Australia claiming the lives of 20,046 people each year – that’s one Aussie every 26 minutes.[ii]

High blood pressure is an important risk factor for cardiovascular disease and is linked to 70 per cent of heart attacks, strokes, and chronic heart failure.[iii], [iv]

Research Director, Associate Professor Dr Karin Ried said the study showed Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract™ significantly reduced blood pressure

“We believe aged garlic extract has the potential to improve cardiovascular health on several levels, including blood pressure but also arterial stiffness and inflammation.”

Get to the Artery of It

Aged garlic extract may help to reverse the fatty deposits around the heart and reduce calcification in our arteries and lowers blood pressure, according to breakthrough research.[v]

The study is the first to look at the role of aged garlic extract and its direct effect on heart arteries.

It found aged garlic extract significantly reduces soft plaque within the arteries. Studies show that most heart attacks are caused by soft plaque which is an inflamed part of an artery that can burst. This can lead to the formation of a blood clot, which can lead to heart attack.

“The results are very promising. We believe that AGE helps to reduce the soft deposit around the heart.”
