A toddler has been found in a street racing car after police catch teenage P-platers.

ABC reports two teen P-plate drivers have been charged over street racing in Sydney’s west after a one-year-old baby was found in one of the cars.

Both drivers aged 19, clocked up speeds of 150 kilometres per hour (kph) in a 80kph zone on the Great Western Highway at Eastern Creek about 5:15pm on Wednesday, police said.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped the two cars while they were racing, a police statement said.

Police said the passengers in one of the cars, driven by the woman, included two adults and a baby boy.

The Department of Family and Community Services were informed of the incident.

  • Clearly these people lack intelligence.

  • It is very irresponsible to be risking other peoples’ lives. You have to be complete idiot to speed that high above the limit……but put a baby’s life at risk too??? That is inexcusable. I wonder if the baby was even properly restrained in a correctly fitted babyseat?? People like such drivers often drive cars registered to other people if the license is suspended so it doesn’t show up on Police Computers. If the driver is the baby’s father that means he is even more irresponsible.
