TOY Story actor Tim Allen has revealed he struggled to contain his emotions as he recorded voiceover work for the latest instalment of the Disney Pixar film series.

The 65-year-old actor said he became overwhelmed as he lent his voice to Buzz Lightyear for the fourth film in the family animated comedy series, shares The Sun.

According to Tim, it will be the most touching story to date.

“It is so emotional, it’s so funny, it’s so big, the idea they’ve come up with, I’m startled,” the actor told The Talk. He said he found the script so powerful that he struggled to complete his work on the project.

“I couldn’t even get through the last scene. I would love to be a Washington leaker,” he said.

Asked to give more information on the film, Tim remained tight lipped.

“I just can’t do it. I can’t give any more away,” he teased.

“They’ve got great characters but a couple of scenes toward the end were really hard to get through,” he added.

“Somehow they were able to advance this wonderful story that could have easily ended with number three being the best of the bunch,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

“It’s emotional and funny and exciting and different and took it to a whole new level. It walks the line between comfort – you know what’s going on – and discomfort – wondering what’s going to happen. It’s terrifically emotional,” he added.

Toy Story 4 is due to hit cinemas in June 2019.

  • I want to know what happens now… Andy is getting older so I could only imagine it will be touching. Maybe they are handed down to Andy’s children. I don’t think they are ready for another preschool.

  • OMG I can’t believe I have just seen this. I think I will be more excited than the kids! (lol). My children have grown up loving this movie (including having a few Toy Story birthday parties) and I’m sure will still enjoy watching this.
