The TV host has welcomed her second child with husband Michael Willesee Jnr.

Just days after her father-in-law Mike Willesee passed away from throat cancer, Weekend Today host and 60 Minutes reporter, Allison Langdon, has given birth to a daughter! The Daily Mail reports that the TV presenter gave birth to a baby girl last Sunday, the second child for the couple, and a sibling for their two year old son, Mack.

A Difficult Time

With the recent death of the TV legend and father of six, the couple are yet to make an official announcement and are said to be dealing privately with their grief. Confirming the gender of her baby last November, Allison revealed that she had enjoyed her second pregnancy. “I’ve been great, I’ve felt fine,” she said. The couple are rumoured to have named their newborn daughter Scout Heather Willesee, tragically born just over 24 hours after her grandfather’s funeral.

New Beginnings

Both Allison and Michael attended the funeral on Friday, before welcoming Scout on Sunday, the thirteenth grandchild in the Willesee family. As the family mourn the loss of 76 year old Mike, we have no doubt that the birth of their daughter will provide comfort and joy during this difficult time.

Congratulations to Allison, Michael and Mack!

  • Such a bittersweet time for them. Must be so hard to be so happy and sad all at once. Im sure he would have loved to meet her, but will be watching over her from above. Congratulations to them

  • Not me personally, but I have 2 relatives who did. Not quite that soon after though. One was 3 months, the other was about a month.

  • I saw this yesterday but couldn’t think of who the guy in the pic looked like. I remember now, I think he looks like Cameron Daddo. So when I saw the pic, read the headline, I was thinking ‘gosh, they would be getting on a bit to still be having babies.’ Oh dear

  • My second son was born the day , my brother machines were turned off. Was due to give birth on Saturday and my brother was involved in a car accident on Sunday afternoon. Rang my mother to let her know the baby was not here yet. She told me about my brother, they had just popped home to get some fresh clothes. Only found out when I got in contract with my sister’s finance’s mother on Monday they were going to turn the machine s off. I think that is when the baby decide it was coming. He arrived at 2pm Tuesday, the machines were turned off about 4pm on my brother.I found out the next day, Wednesday from my husband. Due to distance could not fly to the funeral in time on the Friday. He was mum’s only son and she found it hard celebrating my son’s birthday for years. While I was left with every time my son ages, my brother has been dead that long. My brother will always be nineteen for ever.
