Hello!

This was super fun for my 8 yr old. You can use all sorts of old toys.

Material

  • A old plastic/rubber toy ( or buy a cheap one from $2 shop )
  • Spray paint Colour of your choice
  • Spray on sealer (Clear) ... Adult use
  • Stanly knife *adult use
  • Blutac / Putty (Non toxic) ... Can use kids non toxic blutac

Method

  1. Carefully cut a round opening at the top of the doll's head
*if you would like to protect any part ie' eyes ect cover the area with blutac
  2. Spray paint the doll in a well ventalated area and allow to dry
  3. Seal with the sealing spray and allow to dry
  4. Fill and cracks and joints on the inside with blutac or putty, if the opening is large enough I seal the neck joint completely.
    Allow 24 hrs to set
  5. Fill the opening with potting mix & plant the succulent positioning to look like hair and enjoy watching your Dolly Pots head grow :)

  • I could so see a character in one of my new books doing this. When I get around to writing them.. it’s such a quirky and fantastic decorating idea.

  • This made me laugh. Especially all the comments. I don’t have any dolls because I have two boys. I might have to look at my parents place if I find any old dolls my sister and I were playing with.

  • Maybe a toy bucket, or tip truck but not a doll.
