This water bag is a great project to use up those leftover craft bits and pieces. The bag shown in the picture has eyes, glitter, beads, foam sea stickers, shredded cello, beads and felt pieces. Your child will have to move the water around to discover all of the objects inside.

Material

  • 1 Zip lock bag (double zip preferable)
  • 1-4 Cups Leftover craft items. Sequins. Foam stickers. Cellophane etc
  • 1-4 cups Water
  • 3 - 6 drops Optional food colouring

Method

  1. Take your zip lock bag and add leftover craft items.
  2. 3/4 Fill bag with water and food colouring and push leftover air out. Close bag as tight as possible.
  3. If the bag isn't air/water tight, seal with some tape. Playing with the bags is reccomended outdoors and under adult supervision in case of a leak.

  • Looks like so much fun to make these Explore Water Bags and also to burst them if the kids want to. A fantastic way to share ideas of craft materials and how they look in the water with your child. Messy play is always the best, yes outdoors would be the most suitable environment.

  • Most definitely an outside activity. Too much chance of a leak and mess

  • Good to see the comment advising to use outside. I was picturing a mess if the bag leaks or bursts

  • I think I would have to masking tape/glue gun the bag shut too as my toddler is very good at opening ziplocks now.
