I made this gardeners scrub for my Mum’s birthday and she loves it and said it works the best out of anything she has used. I put it in a wide neck jar with a flip lid for easy access when you have dirty gardening hands.

Material

  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 10 drops Peppermint essence
  • 10 drops Tea tree oil
  • 1/2 cup Dish liquid or liquid soap
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut/macadamia/olive oil
  • Zest of 1 Lemon

Method

  1. Mix the wet ingredients and lemon zest together.
  2. Add wet mix to sugar. If mixture is dry add a little more soap and if too wet add more sugar.
  3. Mix all together and put into a wide neck jar.

Notes... Really easy project, a great gift for any keen gardener.

  • What a clever creation. I know how hard it is to get dirt off your hands after a day in the garden

    • I find under my nails is the worst. I accidentally discovered that the shampoo I used on my hair got the dirt out after I had tried a few other methods.

  • The kids could put this together as gifts for grandparents. I’d prefer liquid hand soap than dish detergent, but the recipe sounds great.
