Journaling for kids is a fun way for them to learn without them even knowing that they are learning anything.


Material

  • A selection of Pens and Pencils
  • Some Magazines
  • 1 Scrapbook or Journal
  • 1 Washi Tape & Stickers
  • 1 Watercolours
  • 1 Glue
  • 1 Stamps and Stamp Pads

Method

  1. Journaling with kids is really simple. I set them up with the supplies and give them some prompts - they can include:
    What is your favourite thing to eat?
    One good thing about today
    One thing I would like to learn
    If I could have one super power what would it be?
    I love my family because…
    My favourite holiday was
    Draw your favourite movie character
    What do you think your favourite character from a book looks like?
  2. Let their imagination come wild.

  • I always had a journal/diary as a kid and really enjoyed writing in them. Wasn’t so much fun when someone found and read it. I loved reading tgem years later, so many memories stirred up

  • I think this is a lovely idea and one that I could easily do with my kids and also to help them be more mindful of themselves and others. Will need to make a quick list as a reference.

  • I love journaling. Lists are good to ie; movies I would like to see, books I have read and ratings/critique of them, goals, my friends, things I’d like to learn etc.

  • I have a couple of these from my kids, done when they were small. I do particularly like the ones with memories of trips away. Great keepsakes
