This cup/glass cover takes a bit of time to do but is great for the outdoors to keep insects out of drinks.

Material

  • lace
  • beads
  • ribbon

Method

  1. Cut the shape using a saucer.
  2. Line one side with ribbon then with beads.
  3. Stitch bead circles around then line the reverse side.

Notes... Have fun with the children, try different styles and materials with beads.

  • A necessity in autumn when the European wasps are about. They love drinks, imagine accidentally swallowing one if them!

  • What a great idea and if you make them bigger they can cover the bowls to stop the bugs so easy to make would be great for our outside meals also use heavier beads around the edges to stop them blowing off.

    • Exactly. A fun project that has a great practical use. Thanks.
