This is such an easy and fun art activity my 3 year old loves! The nicely scented, squishy foam feels great!

Material

  • shaving cream
  • 1 large plate or mat to keep the shaving cream contained
  • 1 smock
  • coloured paper (optional)

Method

  1. Squirt a reasonable amount of shaving cream onto a surface that can be wiped clean easily or washed. (I use a large plastic plate)
  2. Let them have lots of fun! If you want you can use coloured paper to take a print of their creations by simply placing a piece of paper on top and pulling it off to reveal a print of their design.

Notes... I used the shaving cream in the photo because it starts as a blue gel and turns into a frothy white foam. It's also for sensitive skin. Home brand shaving foams work just as well. I made a smiley face on the plate and let my son see what happened when he got his hands into it :)

  • I do this at home with my little ones too! I let them loose in the shower though….they ‘decorate’ the shower wall in any way they like, lots of colours and then I shower them and wash the walls off! Great on a hot day!
