Hello!

My kids find colouring in the paper the most fun until the rockets are made. Try and wrap the paper as tightly as you can around the pencil to make it pop further.

Material

  • 1 piece of paper
  • 1 bendy straw
  • 1 pencil
  • 1 sticky tape
  • 1 scissors

Method

  1. Cut a strip of paper 4cm wide by 8cm long. Decorate it with textas.
  2. Wrap the paper around the pencil lengthwise to form a long cylinder. Sticky tape the long edge down the entire way and then close the top down of the cylinder with sticky tape as well.
  3. Insert the bendy straw - take a big breath and blow. The paper will pop off the straw like a rocket.

Notes

These rockets will end up all over the house but the good news is if any are lost, they are easily remade. They are very light so not likely to knock things over in the house either.
