Bondi Winter Magic is back during the months of June and July, with the beachside suburb transforming into a wonderful wintery playground by the ocean…

Once again, the beachside suburb of Bondi will be transformed into a wintery playground by the sea complete with an ice rink, food stalls and spectacular Ferris wheel. Throughout the month of June, families can enjoy all the entertainment on offer while soaking up the winter sunshine.

A Winter Wonderland

Bondi Winter Magic will see the return of the famous beachside ice rink, as well as the 22m Ferris wheel where you can take in a 360-degree view of one of the world’s most famous beaches and surrounds. Not only that, but the Bondi Feast fringe festival will take over the Bondi Pavilion in July, showcasing local theatre, comedy and art.

Those who visited the event in previous years say it is definitely worth checking out. “Can’t wait until next year because it’s the most fun we’ve had in a long time,” one parent said. “We had a wonderful time,” said another. “The initiative is super family friendly and attracts people from all walks of life to just have a go and get involved in the buzz that is Bondi in winter.”

Tasty Treats

Alongside all the fun of the entertainment, Bondi Winter Magic has plenty of tasty treats on offer for every age and budget. Whether it’s delicious gozleme, fresh cinnamon doughnuts or a healthy pressed juice, there are plenty of options to choose from, or take your pick of one of the dozens of eateries on Campbell Parade and Hall Street.

So if you’re looking to get the kids off their screens and out of the house this winter, why not head down and check out the winter magic for yourself?

  • I don’t like Bondi Beach much in the summer and don’t understand why it’s such a loved beach by many, but this looks really nice and maybe we should do this once this winter.

  • It’s a pity they can’t do something like this in SA but we don’t have as many people as NSW does. They would need to do it in July when it is school holidays.

    • It would be delightful in so many places – good for families.
