Two toddlers have been taken from a Sunshine Coast home following a violent assault where a woman was struck on the head with a metal pole.

Queensland Police say a group, including at least two women and two men, took the three-year-old girl and her one-year-old brother from the Beerwah home on Tuesday morning.

Those involved are known to police but officers have been unable to locate them and are seeking urgent help from the public to find the children.

In a statement police have said, Sunshine Coast detectives are seeking urgent public assistance to help locate two young children who were removed from a home at Beerwah yesterday following an alleged violent confrontation with the occupants of the residence.

It is understood four to six people- at least two women and two men- attended a Greber Road home around 9.30am yesterday, Tuesday November 21.

It is alleged the two adult occupants of the house- a 31-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman- were threatened by the group before the woman was struck on the head with a metal pole, sustaining a laceration to her head that required hospital treatment.

Two children- a three-year-old girl and her one-year-old brother- were removed from the house, with the group then leaving with the children.

The identities of those involved are known to police however officers have been unable to locate them to check on the safety and welfare of the children.
It is possible the children have been taken to the Toowoomba area.

It is believed those involved are travelling in two vehicles:
Black Holden Astra sedan with NSW registration BPS 38Q
2009 red Holden Commodore sedan with Queensland Registration 484 VNN

Both missing children, the three-year-old girl and the one-year-old boy, are described as Aboriginal with slim builds, brown hair and brown eyes.

One of the women allegedly involved is described as a 30-year-old Aboriginal woman, approximately 159cms tall with a slim build, brown hair and brown eyes.

One of the women allegedly involved is described as a 49-year-old Aboriginal woman, approximately 150cms tall with a solid build, dark brown hair and brown eyes.
