  • My grandson had to go into childcare at 5 months and he caught everything going. The whole family seemed to be constantly sick for the first 12 months. And it starts all over again when he starts school :(((

  • Question re sugar affecting immune system – does this refer to all sugar or just added sugar, ie fruit has fructose, milk has lactose etc. I’m finding sugar and salt are in everything!

  • My daughter had 6 colds, tonsilitis and croup in her first year and that was prior to daycare! I try and get as many vegies and fruit into her as possible, encourage drinking water and hardly went out in the evening/late afternoon. Now she’s in daycare and it’s continuous snotty nose. She’s also had tonsilitis and bronchiolitis since January. We have 2 dogs. I keep the house tidy but I’m not a disinfectant freak and heard this can be bad too. I’ve started adding probiotics to her diet but I’m at a loss why she’s been so sick. My gp said 1st 2 years in daycare she will be sick…

  • I’m really noticing now that my kids get sick less often at school than they used to at daycare – I guess all those bugs helped strengthen their immunity!
