Just days since the Stikeez range of fruit and vegetables were made available to the public and they are already popping up on eBay and Facebook for ridiculous prices.

Individual pieces are selling for $30 a piece while those with completed sets are asking for as much as $500 – much to the horror of those taking part in the supermarket giant’s third minis instalment.

“Makes me god damn sick of how greedy some people are over these things,” one mother wrote.

“I’m very disappointed & pi**** off right now.”

“Here we go again… disgraceful,” another wrote.

“I haven’t been able to get any of the albums so I give up.”

Shoppers are given one mini for every $30 they spend at the store, with the added incentive of five “rare Stikeez” including Golden Billy Banana that will land you a $100 Coles voucher.

  • Wish I had money to spend on crazy things.

  • It all seems rather outrageous doesn’t it?

  • How did Coles get a Australian cosumer safety pass with such small pieces? Choking size for sure for small children!

  • I highly doubt it. The feedback on these Ive heard is mostly negative.

  • Simple… don’t buy it. There is obviously a demand. I’d love these people who are selling these for such inflated and ridiculous prices, to be stuck with them. Don’t buy them.

  • People must want it though, there must be a demand for it

  • I’ve seen this happen so many times. When I was getting the cards for my boys and ended up with double I’d advertise them on line for a swap or for free.

  • If people are stupid enough to pay this money than why not make some money out of them, gets me how they got a hold of so many so quick though, makes you wonder if it is Coles staff selling them.

  • Absolutely cannot believe the prices

  • Haha I love this. Not that I would buy them, it just shows how ridiculous people can be. I sold some of the originals on eBay. Might be time to sell some of the kids doubles of this round ????

  • I can’t see why anyone is surprised or upset about this? It happens with every collectible offered!

  • I think the whole point is that people are willing to pay for them… the fun of it is collecting them yourself.

  • Absolutely disgusting that people think they have a right to profit from something they got for free!

    • You do have to buy groceries to get them. Why not sell them on if someone is willing to pay for them? It’s not like it’s stealing or criminal

  • But is anyone stupid enough to pay those prices?
