  • Use a washing machine, that both saves on power and water. When the washing is done, hang it out on the line in the sun.

  • We compost all of our organic waste – being fruit peels, onion peels, etc. It provides so much nutrients to the soil, for which we grow our very own vegetables to enjoy at home!

  • I Use reusable fruit an vege shopping bags, leave the plastic on the roll and save the planet!

  • To reuse or recycle what ever you can and to use as few a thing as possible and to only buy what you really need.

  • Don’t try to make your life sustainable in all aspects straight away, take one step at a time

  • Environmental sustainabilty on a personal level is turning off household lights when they aren’t being used which reduces our carbon footprint as less greenhouse emissions are produced.

  • Do everything you need to in moderation and this is done by making sure to plan your day ahead and not focusing on any one activity in particular.

  • Grow your own veggies. Cook your own food from scratch using fresh produce. Limit plastic. Recycle recycle recycle

  • Smile when the checkout person tells you they no longer have plastic bags.

    You are helping the environment.

  • Look for appliances with high star rating,
    Less water, energy and foot print it’s creating,
    Saving earth and being green,
    Plus always switch off your machines.

  • Other than reducing plastic use, we try to reuse everyrhing we can and we use reusable containers for food instead of cling wrap.


  • Whilst waiting for water to become hot in the shower, turn on the bathroom sink tap (using a container to catch the water). Running water in the sink speeds up the process of getting hot water in the shower and cuts down on wasted water.

  • While waiting for water to turn hot in the shower turn on the bathroom sink tap using a container to catch the water in the sink. Doing this ensures water in the shower becomes hotter faster and there is no more wasting water.

  • Remember the seven ‘R’s': Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Restore, Revamp, Reinvent and Recycle.
